I bet they were being wheeled in and were like, "Holy crap guys, I can't believe no one's ever thought of this before.  I mean, give our hated foes of many years' battle a giant wooden horse as a fake gift, with us all hidden inside?  It's so simple!"

Anyway, what the tale never seemed to get to was that they were hiding in a giant pile of kindling on wheels.

Horse were sacred to Trojans. They would never burn such a thing.

 Imagine Indians(Asian Indians, not American Indians) burning a wooden cow. It just isn't done(Unless it is done in some religious rite I don't know about, then replace burn with eat).
