Bases beat acids in chemistry. Using a base meme was a freedom of speech.

Letters are more efficient in IT (or on, for instance, a LED-lettersign) than asian glyphs.

bases do not "beat" acids, more like they neutralise each other, so "=" would be more appropriate.
same with glyphs - they can be more efficient way of conveying meaning, just as much as letters can, depending on circumstances.
But don't mind me, the game must go on.
