I recently have become addicted to this game and so decided to start one.
The rules
There is permanent death, you’re dead with no action unless someone revives you. After each death you have a -1 to being revived again which can accumulate. And no ghost stuff without special GM permission(because someone asked).
You have one free action a turn, which can be used to cross small distances, use objects, pick up objects, hand things over, accept things, talk with NPCs, and explore rooms. You will get one regular action every turn which will result in a die roll 1 to 6 going from critical fail to overshoot.
You will be on a skill level system. With successful usage of a skill you will gain experience: on a four or five +1 exp, on a six +2. After gaining 4 exp you will gain a +1 in that skill, then the exp will reset and be 0/8 for +2, 0/12 for +3, 0/16 for +4, and 0/20 for +5.
When gaining skill in weapons and/or armor you can gain no more than a +2 bonus from their use. The weapon and armor rules will now be as follows. Armor exp will be firts out of 0/10 and 1 exp will be awarded each turn you wear it till you get a +1 then exp will only be awarded from its use in battle which is 0/20. Armor will come in many types so what it is made to defend against is what it will defend against eg blunt, stab, slash, explosion, magical ect. If the armor is not ment for the type of attack then its protection is negated and there is a chance that the armor could be destroyed. Weapons will also go by exp level 0/10 for +1 and 0/20 for +2 but exp will only be gained from successful attacks with them. Weapons fall into attack groups blunt, stab, slash, explosion, and magical ect. Weapons do best againt unarmored opponents doing more damage, followed by opponents using armor which does not defend well against your attack type, and finally attacks were bonus' are blocked by the proper armor and only normal damage registers.
Also there will be no breaking of the universe through ascending into a god, warping space and/or time, affecting dice outcomes, or use of parallel dimensions. Also there will be a difference between skills/magic on other and skills/magic on self (e.g. teleport self and teleport other).
There is a points system where points are awarded to those who figure out references, kill bosses, or defeat other NPC contestants. These points will be held on clickers and can be exchanged for prizes at the end of levels.
This match will start with 5 people if i think that more will be acceptable others may join. There is the chance that should I feel it appropriate there will be a deus ex machina roll which depending on the out come may do good or bad things to the party.
Storyline:
You are in a group of travelers who have all been invited to join in an international/interracial tournament. You all have been given instructions to the volcano/headquarters of the competition “the pit of infinite joy and sunshine”. With your invitation came an easily colored white kilt which is your entrance pass and may be any color you choose. It is said that who so ever that completes the tournament will win both a fabulous prize and a chance to use it in the next tournament in an undisclosed location. It is also said that if you reach the final floor wearing your kilt you will get a small prize.
Damage:
2 light brusings = 1 light bleeding
2 light bleeding = 1 medium bleeding
2 medium bleedings = 1 heavy bleeding
2 heavy bleedings = death
Bones can be broken in the proper circumstances and you can go strait to any of these levels without going through the others if you get attacked properly. When heavy bleeding is achieved you will get a survival roll to not die but 2 heavies still equals death also pain due to injuries my lower thought based action rolls. Burns make it easier to bleed.
