i made this large moat and have loads of free buckets, but only 1 dwarf fills it up at a time....and it evaporates before he can get more in....how do i fill it up faster? yes i have more then one area of the pond covered by my zone....i remmeber something about needed more then 1 zone though

You need multiple zones, each zone assignment for pond generates one fill job at a time, and you need a lot of buckets and plenty of time ( make each square of moat a invidual pond zone, that'll assign as many jobs as possible, until it gets too full )
