The problem with non-standard weapons on Dwarves is that there is currently no way to assign your soldiers to non-standard weapons with independant skills, such as Pikedwarves, Lashers and Blowgundwarves.

Maybe next version...

You can do two-handed weapons for dwarves, however. For example, I modded in two-handed War Axes into my mod, and made long swords available for dwarves as two-handed weapons. The only catch is that you have to set the dwarf to wield two weapons for them to use them properly.

Minor note, which Warlord has undoubtedly already figured out, is that you need to give size 6 races [STOUT] to make their equipment usable by dwarves. Otherwise it just shows up as narrow.

One side effect of multiple races to trade with is that it makes it very, very easy for a fortress to survive. Most basic races will come bearing lots of food, cloth, and leather. To balance this out, I made more 'hostile' races so that the fortress has to work harder to defend all the caravans that come in.

Most insane trading season so far: A 4 squad ambush, a 1 squad siege, and a 2 squad siege. Talk about carnage.

Yeah, noticed this.. seems a bit cheesy to have the atlatls using the bow skill. So I'm ditching them.

Is this dead?

I wonder if there could be a race with an unnatural fetish for instruments, and (somehow) can use them as weapons, too!

For now, it is in hibernation; I am waiting for the next version.
