Quite difficult. I would say, set the volcanism variance settings to as high as possible- set them to 0 and subtract one and it loops around.

Well, you'd need a high-volcanism region directly adjacent to a low volcanism region.

So, you set Volcanism X and Y variance to their max.
And set "Volcanism weighted range" 80-100 and 0-20 volcanism ranges to 10, leaving the middle 3 at 1.

Then, you MIGHT get the right biomes adjacent. Maybe. If someone else knows a more reliable way, or more ways to tip scales in your favor, feel free to say so.

Did you know you can hit "Enter" on the values and just type them in? It tells you the allowed range, and if you type a range too high it'll default to the max.

Maybe I just got lucky on the world I genned a while back...I had similar settings, but not to the extremes that you have'em.

There were, quite literally, bauxite clusters that were pierced by the magma pipe that I had. A couple layers of limestone with a magnetite cluster right where I had placed my main hall.

I can post the info for the world if ya like. Beyond being savage neutral, I'm not quite sure what other properties it had...

Edit: Just recreated the world with the settings set so that I could view all features and I've confirmed that there's only a magma pipe as far as features are concerned. You're also limited to two or three small murky pools for water that need to be drained if you want to irrigate your farms and fill a cistern. No sand, either. Main thing the location has going for it is a massive supply of iron and a near infinite amount of flux.

You could try just jacking up the number of volcanoes.  That seems to get lots of 'em out in the middle of plains and forests and whatnot.

Check my sig, its got a save file for a world that has a damn great position. A magma pool, lots and lots of iron with sediment (I was just about making everything out of steel), sand, a fairly high mountain, HFS, and even better lots of seiges (when I had stopped playing DF a few months ago I was still playing that fort and I had to of had at least 6 seiges, most of which with 4 squads and everyone riding beak dogs, good times)

I've found sedimentary layers near magma pipes enough. Try messing with minimum volcanoes, volcanism min/max, and volcanism mesh settings/x and y variance. You shouldn't have to do anything TOO extreme.

Or, if you don't mind editing the raws, removing the flux tag from marble will make the finder shut up about how that marble is as good as limestone or dolomite.
