Cat Mod

This is basically a mod where I have added 20 new domestic cats and one feral cat to the DF world. These cats are based on color and coat patterns seeing as I can't use specific breed names as dwarves would not have Persian, Siamese or tuxedo cats. Instead I have exotic long haired, exotic short haired, and bi-color cats.

The only explanation for a problem like that would be inside your entity_default file. All civ-related stuff is handled there, if you're starting as humans/elves it means you might have changed something (unwillingly?).

No I have changed nothing in those folders and there are no [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] tags either.

I have tested it with a brand new freshly downloaded DF by adding the one text file to the objects folder and I still have problems. Also for more strangeness it seems to make gremlins an enemy civilization in the civ screen when embarking. Another question, what is the tag that allows the cat to adopt a dwarf? Because I have a strange feeling that has something to do with it.

You appear to have smoke cat in there twice.  I seem to recall that having multiple creatures with the same [CREATURE:NAME] tag can cause bizarre bugs, though I'm not certain about that.

Vermin hunter status also gives cats their aloofness, and ability to adopt dwarves.

Thanks, that seems to fix it. I removed the second smoke cat and removed vermin hunter from the feral cat. I'll reupload it soon.

Too bad there's no way to get those different breeds to interbreed. The next version is going to have variable appearances, which would probably cover cat breeds anyways.

But whatever floats your boat, carry on.  ;)
