Age of Myth
« on: December 01, 2008, 03:54:33 pm »

Just wondering... How many of you know how to access Age of Myth timescape for Playing in?

I was rather suprised when I found out how to, which was by chance, so, don't flame me if you know how to - but I'm guessing some newbies don't know how to...

--------------

When you Create a new world, hit space (or enter) when the progress reaches the start of Legends-writing. (Initializing...). Once the initial pause is over, you can save the "Current state" of the world, and voila. You can play it.

There are a shit load of Dragons, Ettins, and other nasty creatures. All over the place - namely the rarer creatures, are easier to find. Also, villages and whatnot are still in mid-consturction, which is fun to watch as they go about building the place up.

You can set the end date for whatever you want when you design a world with parameters.

if you just want to hunt megabeasts, playing in year 1 is fine.  but as you noticed, there are several drawbacks.  capitol cities will just be vilages, and there will be no large cities.  there will have been no legendary figures outside of initial rulers and their families.  no wars will have started.

you cant actually watch these things happen, as most of them ocur ONLY in world gen.  towns should not grow during the game.  wars will not start (outside of adventure-mode vendettas) after worldgen.

Really? I found a half-built house, slept 3 times, and it had been worked a little. o.o

That may be an exception.
Or it may just be a hallucination.
But in any case, 99% of the shiny new worldgen stuff won't happen outside of worldgen for the moment.

If that's for real, my mind is blown.

Then I shall have to pull the literal pin on the literal gernade, so I can set off said literal explosion, which will blow your literal mind.

LITERALLY.

And thus did the dream of dwarven antigravity fade away, not with a massive explosion or a flood of magma, but with a whimper.

I'm going to be depressed all day now.
