So its the same...thought it was a diffrent one since I didn't remeber the article scan looking like that.

Poor guy.  Probably not good for the hippo either, they are herbivores right? Probably can't digest meat too well.

Brings up an odd ethical dilemma though... kill the animal to retrieve the corpse or let the animal live as the body is not important enough to justify the death of the animal?

what the hell are you talking about? that dwarf probably had friends and relatives that certainly don't want there son/father/brother/cousin/friend/etc ending up as hippo shit. Of course they're going to retrieve the body.

I dunno.  If I was eaten by something (especially a hippo!) I'd be downright pissed if they killed the hippo.  That fucker is badass!

Who the heck carries around the tools to cut open a Hippo in 10 minutes?

I wonder if Hippos are like Horses and Rats in the sense that they cannot throw up... then again throwing up a whole person may be a bit difficult

Anyhow, The Hippo would get very sick (likely die) if it ate the person so they would have to retrieve the person either way.

Well I'm not sure I would want my funeral to require the death of another significant creature.   But I personally believe funerals are unnecessary anyway so my opinion would be moot.

But yea, hippo probably would've died or been really sick anyway, and I guess relatives wouldn't wanna pay their last respects to a pile of poo.

The part that was actually funny to me about the first article was actually the way the Newspaper tries to put the idea in your head that the Dwarf was Murdered!

According to Wikipedia, hippos are considered one of the most dangerous animals on the African continent.  Their victim count only surpassed by that of the mosquito.
They're violently agressive, known to accidentally charge, trample and rip apart innocent bystanders.  Sometimes they even eat them.  <3  :3
