^Nothing about him looking terrified? I got that one when my mayor had similar sentiments about purring maggots... "On the wall is an image of Tulon Chambermerged and purring maggots. Tulon Chambermerged is surrounded by the purring maggots. Tulon Chambermerged looks terrified."

Nope. But he's a royal guard who came with the queen's entourage so he's badass.

... or he's threatened to beat up the engraver.

(Made with Dig Deeper engraving enhancement)

Uker Vuknud, "The Waves of Strangling"

Engraved on the wall is an exceptionally designed image of demanding elf nobles by Cerol Odshithendok.

It's like he engraved a Dwarf Fortress Scrappy-Doo.

Well, I got plain 'dwarf surrounded by dwarves' (about Sodel Rituzol becoming an expedition leader), but some example titles of those:

-The Hellish Monster
-The Poisoned Flag
-The Beast of Doom
-The Worst Propability

Suggest they don't like him too much...

Best one I got was an orc falling after he got impaled by spikes. I was using a spike corridor defense, it was great. Wish the orcs had names though, it's not as epic to kill "the orc".

I think my legendary engraver is getting fed up with his job.

I had an engraving of my leader getting rejected the role of Broker (I had already, pre-embark, given another dwarf all the necessary skills, so I changed it). It was funnier because it was masterfully engraved in his room.

By the broker.

Suggestion:

Find a dwarf who holds grudges. We all know we sometime run across troublemakers who have rubbed 3-5 other dwarves the wrong way. Now tell him to engrave, what exactly does he engrave in regard to his enemies?

I could have tried but all my dwarves get along so damned fine :( and the only ones who didn't were murdered by gobbos.

How do you guys get such interesting engravings? Mine are all about the founding of the fortress, or the ascension of the leader into power.

Engraved on the wall is a masterfully designed image of the orc by {urist MvEngraver}. is dead. The artwork relates to the slaying of the orc by a trap in Lovecraft in the summer of 204

(or something like that.)

And yes, my fortress was named "Lovecraft." It fell to a horde of skeletal carp.

Should have fallen to tentacle demons.

There wasn't any HFS on that map.

But I did make a hermit fort by accident while figuring out whether I could drain tentacle clowns down the Eerie Glowing Pit.

(You can't, by the way. They mostly drown.)
