adventurers? hmm, that's an idea i guess, well i guess they would be able to influence people kill things, but not immortal like a god; and they would die after an amount of time.

Okay here's a new concept i would like everyones opinion on it, adventurers, they are regular people but taken over by a spirit? that would re-incarnate itself in a new body when the old host died. re-incarnation takes a turn or two? and they can only wield powers that the host can. eg swords, or magic depending on the host species. Bur if the species discovers that the person is possessed they become hostile and kill the adventurer, which creates a different play style to dietys.

what do you all think, should a new class be created? it would add some depth to some aspects of game play, eg wars, diplomacy and research.

You know what, since no-one is kinda enough to join our little game of evolution, i've decided to hell withe them and to do the turn. If anyone wants to join they can still but they'll just join in with the other species or dietys.

I'll join thou, because I had a species idea last time that I still want to use, I dont promise how avable I'll be, I have so many forum games going on I forget abaut them all, but if you PM me abaut it I'll probably respond.

SPECIES: Fae
The Fae is a species of magic (or "Psychic powers" as you seem to call it, so I will from now on to i guess), they look like huge fractal-ish butter/dragonflies made of light kinda (more detailed description further down.).

They are emotion eaters, akin to succubus/incubus in many settings, the eating is an subconscious action and some emotions harm them while others feed them.
They can also drink nectar but this they can not reproduce on and doing it or a longer while they'll wither away.

they are EXTREMELY long-lived and slow reproducing, they are hermaphrodites, they reach maturity at 2000 years old, the average lifespan is 5000-6000 years, but some can live up to 50 000, they can under optimal circumstances have one child every 1000 years but under normal circumstances every 2000-3000 is more likely.

They do not have any technology or tool using, much because they don't have any limbs to grasp whit.

Physical properties in detail:
weights 200-800g, body length up to 1m, wingspan 2m.
they have 3 antenna, 9 wings, and 7 tails. the wings and body grows to full size in the first 200-300 years, the tails grow whit exactly 1cm a year for their entire lives. The intensity of the light they emit decrease whit age but the complexity and colourfulness increase, meaning a newborn look basically like a !!¤magnesium butterfly¤!! while an ancient several tens of thousands of years old will look like a huge whiling fractal light show. The material of their body is not flesh, it looks like blown glass, and break as easily as blown sugar, any damage to anything except the tails tend to make the fae spontaneously combust in a blue flash. they are very good at dodging thou so this rarely happens.

Psychic powers:
They consume emotions for sustainable and growth, all emotions of non-fae they are near are consumed, the stronger the emotion is the faster stronger is the effect on the fae. prolonged getting an emotion eaten may render you permanently incapable of feeling it.
Emotions that give sustainance:
- happiness
- fear (may also have very fast effect in increasing the faes powers short term)
- greed
- serenity
- lust
- rage
- true love (atleast a little needed in order to reproduce, to make the core of the soul)
Emotions that may harm or even kill the fae:
- hate
- selflessness
- bravery
- scepticism
- optimism

The fae can forge illusion images in minds, these are akin to dream images or hallucinations rather than hologram-like, these can grow very strong if many fae are cooperating, strong conflicting images can cause insanity or even brain damage, so can stongly disbeliving a very powerfull illution.
This power is also badly controled, it can be used conciusly, but it also aautomaticaly prject anything the fae believes, combined whit the fae telepathic communication this leads to huge runaway cascade effects were things that were at first lies to fool others, come to be belived but the fae themselves, and after a while become so extremely strong that it is indistinguishable from reality in consistency, deitail, and apparent solidity to everything that has a mind. Examples were this has happened is the fae cities, and the fact they are incapable of lieing outright or breaking their word, both originaly lies to trick outsiders have now become de facto truths.

I'm rambling, I'll have to post an actual real race post this is mostly brainstorming.

Armok, I'm pretty sure each turn is a couple thousand years. Which would mean that your Fae could not evolve in the traditional sense of the word. You'll probably need to work around that.

Hah, this sounds awesome. If I can, I'd like to take over the Yrb; trouble is, I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks so my internet access will be sporadic at best. Still, I can at least make up numbers for a little while.

Evolution 4 – Turn 1

Change the tasty chibor so that they don't taste as good to predators. (15)

The resulting breeding program to try and change the taste of the chibor population was a miserable failure resulting in more of the population becoming some of the ‘food’ chibor. (-10% pop to all hexes)

Expand into H-20. (57 + 13(breeding) + 6 (diet) + 2 (domestication))

The Chibor burrow in H-20 is a thriving center and now many chibor inhabit its warrens.
(200k chibor now live in the H-20 colony)

They push back into the territory they lost. (10)

Even now since the Lanlar have mysteriously vanished their influence lingers and their psychic command still ingrains itself into any chibor who stray into what once were their territories and prevent the chibor returning to their abandoned burrows.

Spoiler: Umgran (click to show/hide)

The Rock-shells in V26 order some of the White-Shells to explore to the northwest in a search for more habitable lands. Colonization attempt at U25 from V26. (40 – 5(fungus))

The Rock-shells from the mountain slopes of the south find it hard to traverse the marshy fungal grounds of U-25, they eventually find a raised mound on which to stay, the White-shells stand guard while the Rock-shells devour the nearby vegetation. Over the next few years the Rock-shells and White-shells all lose the hardness of their outer shells and find it increasingly easier to move around the surrounding area. However if they try to go back to the mountains it is not long before they die from dehydration due to being fungal Umgran. (Colony moderately succeed but population cannot move about without penalties)

The Glow-Shells from W27 send representatives to the other colonies to establish a control base, and unify the families under their control. (72)

The Glow-shell representatives go to each colony of Umgran and using intimidation and force, gain control over all colonies. The caste system now comprises of Glow-Rock-Bone-Fungal. (+4 EP to Caste System)


Experiment with expanding the burrows, and making them more comfortable. (64)

An enterprising Bone-shell Umgran discovered a new way of building burrows so they can go deeper and larger than previously. Using sticks and rocks buttressing is placed within all burrows. (+3EP to new ability Buttressing, each colony has max pop increased by 7%)

Spoiler: Jhiar'd (click to show/hide)

A new set of Heads start to appear who seem to be more aware of themselves somehow, maybe a genetic mix up, but its certainly caught on. This sparks a new interest in learning, and particulary the interest in continuing relations with the Plantwe. Such as the inetrest in this new concept of trade. A mutual agreement not to kill each other would be benificial aswell. But the Heads will be open to helping the Plantwe with this new fungas predation if they offer their services agains the Lizards to the east. (-)

The Jhiar’d emissary was at the Meeting Stone, where the PlantWe were supposed to be so that a trade and mutual defense agreement could be worked out. However no Jhiar’d has seen the PlantWe nor the Nahuantl. Now with both gone the Jhiar’d could expand into new territories. (+ 10 to next colonization attempt)

The creation of a military structure will serve as a new milestone in the Jhiar'd evolution. At last they've started to understand the concept of military efficiency instead of throwing themselves at the enemies. (97-very nice!)

The heads of each colony through messenger bugs, have ordered the creation of a sect of Jhiar’d to focus on threats to the Jhiar’d populous. Each colony of Jhiar’d now boast two legions of Soldier Jhiar’d that come under direct control of the Tactician appointed by the Heads. (Each Jhiar’d legion can destroy 2 legions of another species that have not any military improvements. -5% of each colony to create legions)

War with the Natuahtl. A force of 35,000 - 40,000  warriors pour through the cliffs assisted by the "Unders", while following the strategic orders of the "Tactician". (-)

With the disappearance of the Nahuantl there is no need for invasion and the legions stay at camp.

The Shrike try to start a new colony to the north of the deserts. (23)

In the heat of the northern deserts the semi-amphibious shrike shrivel and die in great numbers. The colonization of the deserts was a failure and very few survive to return. (colony failure -15% pop from k-13)

Spiritualism spreads to the tribes. (82)

Shamanistic rituals and rites haves spread throughout the tribes of Shrike. Although they worship a higher power of storms and lightning, they do not know yet who it is. (+3 EP to Spiritualism)

With more of a use for structures, their construction abilities have become better. (9)

The Shrike in an attempt to create a shelter for their young, to provide them with a greater chance of survival from predators and storms, create a crčche for them. The crčche is only a circular fence to prevent predators from seeing the young. However during the second year of its usage, a large predatory beast previously unseen by the shrike before crept into the crčche and slaughtered all the young. The shrike distrust buildings viewing them as a deathtrap. (-10% to population in J-12 and -10 to attempting construction within the next turn. The Shrike will forget the building incident by that turn is over)

Building bridges between huts (61)

Learning well from the Great Maelstrom’s lesson, the Ahkarii who tried to fly in the cyclonic winds were quickly swept away and crushed against flying objects and killed. They learnt so well that they constructed rough walkways between the huts to allow passage for young and elders, however they do not survive strong wind and break easily. (+2 EP to new skill bridge building)

Trying to figure out the axe found (85)

The Ahkarii elders examined the axe found and found it quite useful in cutting, they surmised that t was once used to cut wood and could also be used in combat, but were reluctant to try. The axe is then mass produced and handed out to all builders and the huts and support structures of the Ahkarii now are sturdier and longer lasting. (+3 EP to new skill axes, and +1 EP to Hut Building)

Sacrificing and communing with the cyclone to get more power (3)

The Ahkarii elders sacrificed many in an attempt to satisfy the maelstrom, however it was not pleased. “Who are you to decree that these you throw into me are to die? Are you as powerful as I? Only I may decide these things puny men of air. As a punishment for your transgression, those you threw to their deaths will now grant a similar fate to you and your kind.” The Maelstrom changed those who were thrown to their deaths into greater air wielders that call themselves ‘The Forgiven’ they now inhabit U-7 and conduct raids on nearby Ahkarii settlements. (-15% all colonies)

Gain understanding of how the Umgran live and work. (14)

Omega Alpha sits on his mountaintop observing the Umgran going about their lives, he sees them change into Fungal beings, he sees the Glow-shells take control of all Umgran, yet he still cannot discern how the Umgran mind works.

If above goes well then Aid them with my own hands in helping improve burrows.(-)

Influencing the Jhiar’d to create a mighty obelisk to her worship. (36+20PP=55)

The Jhiar’d take the visions of an obelisk to asheron as a sign of the gods agenda, the faithful Jhiar’d start construction immediately. The obelisk that is created is almost what Asheron had envisioned, however it lacked finesse, inspiring fear rather than worship to her followers. (Obelisk created gaining more followers but are not true faithfuls, they worship out of fear and retribution rather than anything else. +8% followers)

It's time for some sacrifices. Well, not exactly. LCL tries to make some chasms (or rather bottomless pits). Guess what waits on the bottom? Those pits are for "sacrifices". Someone dies - dump him. His body will be processed to make our favourite amoeba god a bit larger. (-)

With the Kadesh no longer around Lukut Cush Lhac felt himself fading from existence, he surmised that if followers of the flesh were not found soon he would not endure much longer. However with his followers gone Lukut Cush Lhac could still feel their lingering influence. (+15 PP to make up for follower loss)

Patecatl is a God in the form of a Bull. Patecatl is associated with earth, medicine and birth. I'd like to favour the Chibor if Penguin allows.

I'd prefer a species to another god, if that's alright. i mean you can be a god if you want to, you just need to post an action and 1 major and 2 minor spheres of influence with a backstory.
