Update 3:I finally got it out of the cage, by using a lever. It is now wandering around the meeting hall.
I can cage it, but I haven't tested chains. Assuming it would work.
How likely is it that invading goblins wouldn't kill it? Cause I could use it as a permanent sentry then.

I wonder if cage traps would work on it...
Gender and name of the kid?

 Edited due to title.

Congratulations Lieutenant Obvious, you have been promoted to Captain!

I had this before, and thanks to some editing in the raws, I tamed it. However, it's length of life as a child was too long and it was always hungry and thirsty and I couldn't feed it. I never learnt if it would just starve to death, because I got bored of that fort afterwords.

Do vermin hunters actually eat the vermin?
I have a particular idea in mind...

i wonder if this could be replicated, and thus creating friendly male goblins. Assuming that they can breed, and assuming that a friendly male + a friendly female will yield friendly children regardless of the circumstances, we could create a personal goblin army!

Can you upload a savegame of that? It fascinates me.

For that viciously bad pun, I'm gonna introduce a NPC named Vlynndar just so that I can kill him of in a cruel and unusual way.

This is like the War Carp topic again, but with swords and less awesome. Continue in the name of science.

I get the feeling Gobbo will do something with this concept that I would rather not delve into.

I have a feeling another great thread is about to be born.

This has shaken dwarf fortress to the core.

As far as I can remember, I haven't gotten any cheese makers yet, and the elves have been a good source of wood that harpies consistently keep me from getting normally. The only noble I've gotten so far (dungeon master) has managed to do nothing annoying. Yet.

I am worried by this.

Are you sure you're playing Dwarf Fortress?

It sounds like DF, assuming it's a somewhat young fort.  The dungeon master doesn't start getting annoying until the baron shows up.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Heh. This does raise a few interesting ethical questions.
