DF on a Mac OS 9
« on: November 28, 2008, 07:49:26 am »

my gaming rig is kerplunked for right now and i am forced to use this unsightly thing called a mac os 9. i see that there is a mac port of DF but i cant seem to get it to work, which isnt surprizing as its a battle to get anything to work with this OS

is this mac os 9.2.2 too old to run DF?

also i dont know how to check the system specs (like processor and ram) so i dont know if it even meets the minimum requirements, but if i cant even run the .app (says i dont have the correct version of mac or i'm missing the program to run it) then theres little point in that.

while were at it, if anyone can suggest any decent games for mac os 9 and possibly download links, that would be just swell.

thanks for any help

I'm pretty sure that Dwarf Fortress is only for Mac OSX. Since Apple doesn't even support OS 9 it would be crazy for Toady to do it. On the brightside it should work if you can upgrade to OSX since it's a universal binary.

I I remember when I still used OS9, I used to enjoy a good game of Slime Invaders.  Its sort of a parody of space invaders and will certainly be enjoyable for a few hours.
