Stop owning so much!
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:33:44 pm »

I've got a pile of miners, champions, and artifact-makers who stop working every few minutes to go and "store owned item."

Any way to prevent this?

Don't give them a chest or a cabinet.  Without a container, they won't be able to own anything.

AFAIK, containers are entirely optional for ordinary dwarves, though they'll get a happy thought if they claim something they like.

Afraid not, once the economy has started there's no way to turn it off

Don't they still just go and dump all their gear on the floor of their room? I always seem to end up with a whole bunch of messy bedrooms

They seem to put stuff away if they have somewhere to put it, I'm not sure if containers have a maximum number of thigns they can hold though. I've noticed it sometimes depends on the room - my nobility occasionally take something to their tombs then dump it on the floor as there are no containers there (although they have loads in their bedrooms), which I suppose makes sense. Dwarven treasure in the tombs etc, even if that treasure is a sock. :)

They only want one cold foot in the afterlife.
