Removing stones from river?
« on: November 27, 2008, 07:56:46 am »

Hi!

So, I'm going to build water wheel over brook. I read wiki, and immediately built a 3-long channel over brook. Now I have an open space and water underneath. Good. Building axle. Done. Building wheel... Occupied place... WTF!

Aha! Two stones were dug out when building channel and they felt into river! So, how do I move them out of there? I tried do dump them - no happiness. No dwarf goes there... Any ideas?

if they are into the river, i think you have to drain it, take the rocks, then let it flow again

but your problem might be another... i have several water wheels on an aquifer pool full of rocks. the wheels works well. so rocks on the lowe z level shouldn't be a problem

Hm... I have no idea what's wrong then... I'll take a screenshot as soon as I get home.

Uh, you built VERTICAL axles.  That means they actually go up and down in the Z axis.  You need a horizontal axle, just change the orientation so it points north/south.  The stones shouldn't matter.
