I just got this crazy idea while playing WWI Medic. I noticed that the enemy medic was injured, so I ran all the way accross no-man's-land and healed him. I expected to get some crazy reward but I only got 200 points, I could have gotten 5X as much if I would have saved the guy next to him. So I was thinking, what if you could take the enemy medic back to your lines. Logically, HQ would put him to work. So, if you rescue the enemy medic, you get no points for saving him, but, he gets converted and you have a AI controlled parter whose points all go to you! I'm not sure if this is possible but I know WWI Medic can make AI allied medics. So could Toady1 or X or whoever look into this and see if it's possible, 'cuz it would be really cool!

He he he.  It's possible of course, though there would be a bit of new artwork required for the allied medic carrying the enemy medic...  I guess I have mixed feelings about this sort of thing.  It fits the arcade mood in the sense that you capture a buddy and it actively joins your side, sort of like Galaga or something (except it wasn't your old space fighter).  On the other hand, it seems a bit specious from the realism standpoint -- I'd rather put in some of the other ideas first, if I were to come back to the project.

Hey Toady One, I have tried to send you the art, but your E-mail refuses to accept it. I sent it to toadyone@bay12games.com but your mail host said "551 Message contains a ZIP file that is extremely
compressed (97.82%)" What gives? My E-mail is also only about 27k.

Any chance we can get the 0 key to work for prone?  I'd love to be able to play one handed.

Arg, up till 2 am last night playing, and well on the way again (never been so addicted to a simple arcade game).  Anyway, I have a couple idea I havn't heard before.  First, how about a button order a charge, doesn't make sense, but it could be fun, don't think it would mess up the game like having a weapon would.  Second, instead of dumping from game or having additional lives, at the end of a game you can continue on the same field (score is reset, but you keep battle).

I think the second idea might work.  Ordering charges would spoil the feel of the game to me.  You aren't supposed to be encouraging death.

I agree. Trees and such. Some color on the battlefield. More things to be turned to dust and craters.
The occasional friendly fire is ok, there has to be some danger in going to the field even when there's not a charge going on.

[Edit: And some morale effect would be cool, too, depending on how it would be implemented. I'd love to see the soldiers break under pressure somehow]
