Yes. The infamous "Cancel Construction: Item Blocking Site.  Dwarves has suspended the construction of Wall

It's pissing me off, and I feel like killing the dwarf who's doing that

Sadly, it's no dwarve's fault, as it's a glitch.
But still, I feel like killing someone >:[

Its a glitch where theres a stone rock in the place of a area where you want to build a wall (And the wall is the same stone) yet, your dwarves are too retarded to move the stone, or even use it to build the wall, so instead, suspend the wall. I've dumped it, forbidded it, dumped it again, nothing works, The dwarves ignore it like... its a stone.

That only happens because the stone is already tasked to be used for something else.  Just stop the task it's being used for, and it'll be fine, afaik.

Nope.

I did everything.

I looked for all my units, and removed all their tasks that includes rocks or building.

Theres two of them in the way, and the dwarves are standing right in front of it, complaining about "Can't build a shale wall, because theres a shale rock in that spot!"

Or if you abandon/get destroyed while a building is partially constructed.
The stone will be left in the location permanently and nothing can be built there.

I've done everything.

This was a previous problem in the previous versions as well.

A pesky problem indeed.

Is this on a reclaim?

No, a started-from-scratch above the ground fortress that lasted for quite long.

Screenies?

Everything?

That Shale has a task assigned to it, otherwise that dumb mason would be able to move it :)

You may have forbidden it - this will prevent dwarves from moving it aside. Unforbid the shale.

You may have marked it for dumping - dwarves will not move it aside. Remove the "Dump" assignation.

Some dwarf may have this shale marked for "Let's drop this in the stone stockpile" - remove all of your stone stockpiles for standard stone.

If this does not solve the problem, assign a garbage dumping zone nearby, and set the Shale to be dumped.

If it still does not work, erm ... upload your savegame :-)

channeling under it should drop it out of the way(considering you want a wall there anyway), i think you'll also get a "job item lost" message if it was tasked for anything too.

I fixed it.

How?

Releasing magma onto the goddamn shale.

The only way to fix it >:p
