New ACII Char never seen before
« on: November 25, 2008, 09:02:42 pm »

Heres the story:
I was embarking on a new map I had just made, looked promising. I was looking for a Mirthful/sinister/mountainarea/heavilyforested/adamantium/demonpits/chasm/bottomlesspit/magmapipe/brook/river area, which suprisingly, this map had a couple of those areas. (they were 6x6)

I was about to embark when my finger slipped and I hit the "Up" key instead of enter. I was about to move back down, but I saw something I had never seen before.

It looked like a river from the embark map, but upon closer inspection, I noticed it was gray and intersected with a normal river like a "t", with the gray thing going horizontal.

What is this thing?

Please note that this is a Sinister mountain range.

Im gonna check it out in embark.

EDIT: cant, is deep in mountain range

EDIT2: I found an area that is really close to forests, I embarked and saw.......nothing. Just a mountain and some mountain people "My dwarves". HUH?

Can you look it up on the character map?  That would make explaining it easier.

61 or 205 when it is going completely horizontal.

It is a grayish color.

Um, you didnt read my first and second post.  :'(

I only see it in "Choose Fortress Location" view. When I depart I dont see it, so it must be a underground feature.

Pwnt.

Oh sorry.  So it looks like a river, but is gray.  Then I believe its probably some form of evil river.  I've seen evil water formations that appear as both gray and red.

Aren't those supposed to be roads? It might be an underground road, so dig deep for it.

I think roads are always single lines. Evil water can be gray, red, or brown; it's probably an evil major river.

Can you post a screenshot (including your "t" intersection)?

I'm pretty sure those haven't been implemented yet.

Underground roads are implemented (I've walked one in adventure mode), but I don't *think* they show up on the map.

EDIT: I checked, and they _do_ show up as gray double lines on the local map. Is this going through a mountain region and going between cities?
