Putting out a fire... With Cheats.
« on: November 25, 2008, 06:55:34 pm »

Is there any way I can do this?

I have downloaded Dwarf Companion so far, but haven't found any function to move things which came up in my mind about that frozen dead flying bodies problem.

Please help!

Companion edits people.
Not places.
Try Tweak for that.
But putting out a fire yourself is very undwarfy.

Apparently fire cannot pass constructions, and somehow any stockpile, even if there is nothing in it, is counted as a construction.

With Tweak you could use the tile editor to check Has Liquid and set the liquid level to 7 to get some water. Not sure if that'll work for fire extinguishing or not, though.

Well, if the fire is busy burning you, it will have less time to burn your friends/family/people-you-hardly-know-but-will-go-on-a-rampage-if-they-die.

In my experience, this doesn't work.  At least, it doesn't work with people who have touched magma.  Warping them into a river caused a lot of nice steam, but didn't change their temperature -- apparently, that only happened when they went into the water in game.  Seems the temperature is only changed upon entering the water, not while you're in it.

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.

Tweak is screwy. Any tile you edit will immediately become something like 60000 degrees below Kelvin, instantly killing anything that walks on that tile.

Except Mr. Freeze, of course.

I guess below 0, they start travelling backwards in time?

Hey, it's as good as anyone else's guess.

I've used Tweak to stop fires with some limited results.  If you use tile edit to continually douse them in water, it'll douse the fire, but whatever internal temperature setting they have causes them to reignite, so you'll have to keep an eye out and splash them again when they decide to combust again.

One time, I accidentaly started a grass fire and was able to keep it contained by setting up a perimeter of 7-deep water.
