Sorry guys! My internet is dead until sunday and as soon as it's back on I will update! This is annoying to me since I want this game to work. <.<

Also I'm posting from my phone in case you were wondering.

That's a bit broad Frelock.

It is, but it keeps things organized.  And it still requires a majority to strike any subsection.  Just hoping to give us the option, not that we need to use it.

It does, however, allow us to strike any rule that would not require a majority (because of some tricky rules) away just by saying it is irrelevant.

True, but you can only strike a subsection, not the entire rule, and even then only if you have the support of a majority of players.  And what rules do not require a majority?  If you mean we could strike immutable rules with only a majority, well, you're doing that anyways (changing all immutable rules into mutable rules), and if a majority of players currently want a rule stricken, it would take them only two turns to do it (one to change it to mutable, the next to strike it).

Still, I would like to hope that people would use this rule in its intended spirit.  Do you have any ideas on how to change it so it reflects such?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I have no idea what just happened here, and in fact, I'm fairly confused...  But it looooks like you want your proposition to be the first one that's stricken through?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How will this be enforced?  What happens if they don't submit a proposal each turn?  Are they no longer a Player?  Or can they just not participate in the rest of the phases that turn?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Yupyup.  It's a goodun.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I like it; but I'm unsure of the title. *shrug*  :P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Haha, I like how you mention your plan of exploitation.  How about this: I'll change the title anyway. :P  I was thinking about doing so anyway.  Who wants to read a thread with a huuuuge title?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ya know...  This could be pretty awesome.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Neat!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I do love me some organizationz.

EDIT: I'll begin Phase II sometime later today; I'd like errbody to get a chance to be sure I didn't miss anything, and to read and possibly respond to the comments I made.

Again, sorry for the wait this weekend. D:

P.S.  I love spoilers.  Probably too much.

I haven't thought of any enforcement mechanism, I assume that if you are playing the game, you have to follow all the rules, otherwise you are not playing the game. However, I could see problems associated with this so...

I, <Servant Corp>, hereby submit the following proposition, dubbed <UNTITLED>, to the court to judge:
<All players must submit at least one proposal per Turn, otherwise they cannot participate in the rest of the phases for that turn.>
I respectfully ask all members of the court to carefully consider it's merits and cast their vote accordingly.

307. Any Proposition with subsets are to be treated as a single Rule.

Technically, there is a diffrence between the rule and a proposition, because rules affect the game, and propositions are just rules that need to be voted on before becoming rules.

What happened, is that this proposition made the game faster, but opened a loophole, where a proposition would be treated as a single RULE, not a single PROPOSITION.

Because it was a rule, not a proposition, I decided to fix it by temporarily allowing myself unlimited instantly passes rules
Quote
This post gains unlimited allowed proposed rule potential.
A: does not count for points
 B: they are automatically accepted

Then, I reversed that after fixing the loophole.
Quote
The loophole problem is solved:
a: a proposition with subsets is treated as a single proposition, not a single rule.

I made sure I left a proposition to be voted on.
Quote
b: my prior, strikethroughed, roposition is voted on as usual.

Then I finally canceled the previous rule that opened the loophole, to make things fair again, without affecting the action of sealing the loophole.
Quote
c: the prior proposition-loophole-rule is reverted(non-retroactively)

So, that leaves my proposition for this turn to have been
Quote
I, Qwertyuiopas, hereby submit the following proposition, dubbed Glowy proposition names,to the court to judge:
All proposition titles are shown in glow

I respectfully ask all members of the court to carefully consider it's merits and cast their vote accordingly.

I suppose it's fair. He found the loophole, exploited it to make sure no one exploited it, then proceeded to play the game fairly. He didn't really gain anything from it.

A long time ago I read about http://www.agoranomic.org/ and how someone had tried but it had either failed or had unintended consequences, to fix a large loophole(http://www.nomic.net/~nomicwiki/index.php/MousetrapThesis)

Qwertyuiopas, I'm thoroughly impressed.  That was amazing, once I understood it.

Thank you for clarifying; I'll go fix the rule. :P  Also, thanks for exploiting in a really noble way. Haha

Alright... I've been thinking all day(at work) for a proper proposition for me to propose, and considering the new title of the thread, I think I've worked one out.

I, Tylui, hereby submit the following proposition, dubbed Monocle Avatars, to the court to judge:
Any Player who wishes to submit a Proposition must have a monocle in their avatar at the time of Proposal.  Otherwise, the Player must submit a detailed explanation as to why there is no monocle.
I respectfully ask all members of the court to carefully consider it's merits and cast their vote accordingly.
