This suggestion topic is what you're looking for, also it includes talk about ropes, and whaling with megabeasts, heh, I just harpooned a dragon, with a ballista harpoon.

In the OP, I talk about saving Urist McFuck'Nuts, from the green invasion.
Animal cruelty includes harpooning an animal multiple times and reeling it in, I just hope it dies after being ripped into shreds.

this all sugget a ladder only be makeable in the carpentarer shop and placed like furniture.. i see no conection with my suggestion except of the name...
