I had an diplomat from Elves come to complain about tree-cutting, I checked my stocks and only had 25 woods, but then I remembered I was making charcoals and checked, had 65 charcoals, does they counts charcoals as wood?

iirc, they're complaining about you cutting trees, not possessing them.

So if you cut trees to make charcoal, yes, they will count.

That said, why are you concerned about the demands? That's not very dwarfy...

I don't know if they count charcoal -  i doubt it.
However 20 trees in stocks is plenty - at least by the elvish counts.

From my experience everything >0 is enought to make them moan...
And the worst part is - if you bought some logs from them last year, and did not use these up, so you have 3 of them left in stocks when they arrive next year, they will moan...

Not concerned at all  just surprised, haven't had them bugging me about trees in the other two forts I've played, granted both ended with tantrum spiral before I even got baron ( which I currently have, I suppose that might make the difference ) I've even gotten several goblin sieges, I think I can handle them trying to run around with sticks
