(King != Queen )?

I checked the 'c' menu and it lists a Queen in the nobles list...no King. Does that mean my fort will never grow to mountain home? Or is a bereaved Queen able to function as a 'monarch' equally?


I'm on a 5x6 map with sedimentary layer, chasm, pit, magma pipe, trees, sand, flux, natural obsidian layer, the "extra" stuff yet undiscovered, and a brook. Quite happy there actually...I hope I don't have to restart with a different civ seed to get the "full" game.

A dwarven civ can have a ruler of any gender. Thus, a king OR a queen, never both. A king or queen usually has a king/queen consort as a spouse.

Yes, but in this case, the Queen is not the ruler of his civ.

A woman can rule the dwarven civilization... why not?  Yay dwarven gender equality!
