Oh, I found out why there was keyboard lag. It has to do with the fact that I have an ATI card, they put up a fix for it at http://support.gametap.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=5460&task=knowledge&questionID=1299

I really wished they let you access the game files  :'(

You can barely cheat and can't mod or fix anything in their games.

Necromancy:

Fallout is now on GameTap free.  I think I may have finally found a corporation that truly loves me.

In a platonic way, of course.

Cthulhu, thanks for the necro. I'm downloading Deus Ex as we speak. I loved that game, never got a chance to finish it though...

Deus Ex is brilliant. For any unsure of the Correct way to play it, I offer the following link to a walkthrough packed full of some of the most evil, twisted and downright hilarious ways to complete the game.

Deus Ex taught me that the best way to settle a protracted ideological discussion is with an incendiary rocket.

GameTap loves you very much. It does not, however, love Canada. :( Much more limited game selection for us lumberjack folk.

Really?  I learned that there are few problems that cannot be alleviated by the strategic application of a hiding place and a cattle prod.

Wow, I just started playing this again. I forgot how awesome it is to sneak up on terrorists to smack them over the head with your crowbar. I then proceeded to suicide bomb another group of terrorists with an explosive crate, I ended up turning them to a million grubs splattered across the room while losing both of my legs and one arm in the process.

So I decided to upgrade to a gold membership.  Best deal on the interwebs.  I've played so many games I thought I'd never get to play, hundreds of dollars in games, all for a single dollar for this month.  They just got Sacrifice, which is all kinds of awesome, although a little too silly for my tastes(Stratos is a CO2 canister with a balloon tied to it.), all four Hitman games, both Deus Ex's, all of the Fallout games, Splinter Cell, pretty much everything, the original Empire Earth, Jericho, I could go on.

That game was a god among mere mortals.  I don't know why people don't make more games that are that awesome.

If you maxed out the pistol skill in Deus Ex, a tranquilizer dart to the head was instant knockout. Then again, if you max out rifle, you can destroy cameras with the sniper rifle. But sometimes it's nice to have some moral high ground, in case some rogue AI in your head starts criticizing your tendency to break into every building and take everything that isn't nailed down or on fire.

Is it the American or the European version of fallout? The European one was censored in a crude and inefficient manner, resulting in invisible children that can still pickpocket you.

The European version of Fallout is really easy to convert to the American version. You pretty much only download and add the missing children sprites and then patch the game up with a U.S version instead of an European version. Presto - kids are back, little Johnny's quest works again etc etc.
