Incidentally (again granting that earth is perfectly spherical; in practice it wouldn't be exact), if you're halfway down, the forces from everything "above" you both on this side and the other side of the earth (i.e. everything further away from the center than you are) cancels out.

So in other words, yes, gravity does decrease gradually as you get closer to the center.

Also, BEEEEEEEEEES!!!!

i thought gravity decreases as you get closer to the center of the earth, just like in that one cartoon (ya know, the one with Buster and Babs and all the loony toons ripoffs)

For completeness, I'd like to point out was that what actually happened was, when they reach to hollow center of the earth, they stop falling, because every way is 'up' and there's no longer a 'down' to fall to.  How Hampton and Plucky got out of that gravitational anomaly is hand-waived away.  This break brought to you by DVD FTW.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled BEEEEEEES.

I might be doing it wrong...

Gee, it sure is 4chon in here. Yet, bees are awesome. How 'bout modding them to die after a few sting-stabbing sessions? Ze final destination: suicidal booze-powered killing machines.

I'd just like to note that real world bees can sting creatures of similar size to themselves without pulling their guts out. So these giant bees shouldn't die after stinging.

Oh yeah, um, BEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!
