Oh man, you know what would be awesome?

A vault with a still, a farm plot, a bunch of barrels, a bed, a pick, and a sack of plump helmet spawn in it. With a lever inside connected to 10 floodgates, a drawbridge, and a collapsing sealing mechanism inside it.

You could just rush a single dwarf in, pull the lever, and hope that it doesn't tantrum.

Chaotic is the husband of Nana, Just found out about that myself. Oops again. Umm, he's still fishing. Other than that, he's been quiet. I think he ran away from a few camel at points in time, but fishing is pretty boring.

K/W: I don't mind that Bahlthier is a woman, I didn't specify it because of that, just so long as she doesn't get killed by certain... other... dwarves during sparring (which shouldn't happen anyway because of her being a marksdwarf).

24th of Slate, Year 12, Village Waspurn;

You read right, Village Waspurn! We have earned the official title of village! But I should start at the beginning. I'll give news in chronological order. Rika has joined the ranks of Champions. We now have two champions to guard our fortress. Which brings me to Apple who has gathered 4 dwarves to his team of guards who have been training non-stop.

That brings us to today. I was woken this morning with shouts announcing the arrival of migrants. But these weren't just any migrants, the very first person we see is a finely dressed woman, we instantly recognize her as a noble. This was not just any noble, no. This was a Dungeon Master!
While we watched the normal immigrants follow our new noble, the bone carver who has been making bolts for our crossbowmen gave in to a mood. And started gathering bones, wood, stone and leather. Whatever he's making it looks like it's going to be good. To celebrate, a party is being thrown, hopefully this will help us get to know the new arrivals.

About the FPS slowdown, you can turn cave-ins off (or so I heard) for better perfomance.
I heard that partial print set to ON also raises FPS but when I tried it, I tend to fluctuate at 50-100 with around an eighty most of the time. This is compared to the steady 60-70 FPS from before.

Not sure if Linux supports partial print though.

I run DF in my linux system with PP and a low GFPS without a problem.

And yay for Nana! The baby making factory! If you have some spare time in your head, have her divert some of the glass from the glass furnace for blocks to build decent quarters for her clan :-D

Thanks fore the tips, PP works fine, I am now running 31 FPS at worst, 67 at best. That is an improvement. I really am soaking all I can from this old laptop. I can't wait until my tower is back up and running.
