The creators are working on Clonk Extreme, so there haven't been many updates.

It's not a trial.
If you're playing on a server hosted by someone who owns it, you're identical to an owner except for the lobby avatar.  Owners get to pick their avatar there, you just get a fugly gray UNREGISTERED.

Of course, this being the internet, there are, uh, less-than-legal ways to be an "owner".  But I do not under any circumstances support that.  Buy the game if you want the benefits of buying the game.  As it stands though, since we have somebody who owns it here (yours truly and whoever else) there's no real reason for you to buy it unless you want to play custom maps in single-player.

Luckily I have 2 gaming computers, but I don't look forward to trying to salvage that windows install. I have never seen a trojan work so fast...

Oh SNAP this game is so much better when you register. Quite surprising. You think they would try to make the free-to-play parts less horrible.

It's not that expensive given the advantages, the amount of maps available, etc.
