It'd be cool if unicorn refuse gives off rainbow miasma.

I've considered creating a refuse pit, then making a narrow tunnel to points of my desire, where I could open floodgates, allowing miasma to spill from the mouths of dwarf heads on the outside walls of my fortress. But I don't think that miasma experiences any kind of pressure, so I don't think it would work unless the dumping pits were right behind the mouths of my carved out dwarf heads.

It should totally bleed the laughter of children, too.

Minus the carved heads, this is precisely what I'm doing; lots of one-tile refuse pits with grates over a channel one square away.

and does it work? Does keeping rotting parts in small volume areas cause the miasma to travel further?

You could have a bunch of refuse spots beneath your gathering hall, built beneath hollow glass tubes (hollow structures) to make the graceful billows of miasma seen but not smelled.

You should make prison pits for the goblins into which all of your miasma drains.

I think Toady mentioned evil creatures get bonuses from miasma. Thus goblins would enjoy miasma.

Better for pumping into the depot for the elves.

not that the elves arent annoying to me but why does everyone seem to hate the elven traders but never mention the humans?

ah....good ol' dwarven gas chambers.....half the stories i read about on here are way past the atrocities of the nazis....though  the nazis give the dwarves a run for their money.....i hear it is what 9 billion peeps that were killed by nazis at least? i bet you 20 USD that there is at least double that in dwarven slaughter ideas...whether aimed at dwarves, elves or gobbos.....

9 billion kills? I think you give the nazis a bit too much credit. Try 'million'.

I totally dig the idea of the glass 'tubes' to funnel miasma around, and might try that next when i get into this game again.

Because you can trade wooden or bloody items to the humans, but not the elves.
