Exploit time!

Did I mention the fur cloak exploit where you can buy a cloak cheap, then make many expensive footwears with it? Well I just discovered that torches are in high demand now. Take 10 branches (free!) and turn them into a torch, a single one can buy a pot, and about 6 can get you an iron coudes. Pretty sure it's a much better deal than bowls (faster to make too). Get them before they patch them ;)

Some people like to cheat in play vanilla.

I just finally bought this yesterday.

I managed first-ever animal kill: I chased a squirrel until it ran up a tree and then threw rocks at it until I knocked it down and bludgeoned it to death.

This "Ragged squirrel fur" fills me with pride. I have become warrior.

Quick question:
How long are seasons? I haven't survived past a month yet.

Thanks. New question!

I'm playing the "survive in the wild" tutorial thingy, and I'm up to the "agriculture" task where I have to plant stuff. It gave me a bunch of seeds, but it's mid-July right now. Will anything I plant actually grow enough to harvest before winter?

Probably not, BUT still a good idea to plant at least one seed to be able to finish the task.

I fiddled with this long ago and found fishing, crop theft, and itinerant bowl making to be the only really necessary skills.  Also it is easier to hunt people than animals for food, because the people don't run away at impossible speeds.

Have they fixed any of that?  Also can it me modified to skip wait times for actions?  I remember hating those.  I don't mind it taking character time, but not my time.

If not under Neotemplar look for Vellum.

So, apparently you can't dig pits on marshlands?

That would've been good to know before building my trap fence. :/

fixed what? i don't see any unintended behaviours there. hunting is being toughened up as it was too easy, though, so i don't think you'll think they're fixing anything

Tbh, unreal world is abit micro intensive, it is abit hard, it is abit 'slow'. But its unreal world, working as intended!
I loves it.
If hunting were easier, you wouldn't get that sense of achievement when you finally shoot down that goddam elk.
If it were quicker, you wouldn't feel good about finishing your cottage.

Agreed.  My only gripe is the inability to pause a project to eat or sleep.  Perhaps in a future release...

yes, it is a bit counter intuitive that stopping a project 6 hours into it resets all the progress your character made
