Tip on trap fences: Build between two bodies of water (sea and lake is most preferable) so that during the thaw animals are forced to brave the fence, or walk around the lake.  Works decently on large peninsulas as well.  I try to keep mine straight lines with the trees cut down all along one side of the fence.  I catch lots of deer, elk and traders for delicious meat.

Can you screenshot an example of how big an area we're talking about?

Luckily, I do have an old scum with a completed fence between two lakes.  As you can see, it's no small project, but very effective.  Fromer isn't starving from lack of food at home, as you can see, I think I just had him doing a lot of time intensive jobs before this, and never bothered to eat.

Sorry about onscreen keyboard, my laptop is a pile.

By the way, that one is an autumn start on the hunting accident scenario.  I killed the bear with just a knife and a few tossed rocks to get his attention/anger.

edit: For the record, your metalcrafting amazes me!

So I found this wolf.  Pewpew - first shot to the leg, it's fallen and unconscious.  I move in, equip my hunting knife intent on getting a close-in kill.  SNAP!  Back of the neck, something bites me, insta-death.  ALL THAT WORK and BAM, instadeath.

I love it.

Also yeh, the metalworking is serious fun, if a bit annoying at times.  I figure I might get some commissions after Christmas, when everyone gets their gift money and has extra cash to spend.

I can relate; writing music is much the same way.  Been in a bit of a rut recently and haven't really been able to put anything out the door.  Think it has something to do with the onset of winter and the holidays always being a depressing time of year for me.  Angry with myself for disappointing the Towns folks thus far, but I have a couple ideas I want to bounce off Xavi when I can get in touch with him.

Probably wasn't a lone wolf ;)

Since 3.15 is the last minor version before 3.2, I'm waiting for 3.2, should be somewhere around June 2012 I guess, then buy the major version of that if it contains enough minor versions to make it worthwhile.

Does version 3.15 build get extremely boring fast once you have established your base like older versions? If yes, I'm not bothering to buy it. You hunt, you eat, you chop some wood. Repeat this for about 45 times. All you can do after building a house to call your own is eating and sleeping. Literally just eating and sleeping. The game mechanic per se is not really bad, but it seriously lacks stuff to do.

You could build a new house, or go hunting More Dangerous Game, or become migratory.

Should be a text file that came with the reg pack file. It has all the instructions on how to register the game, and should have your personal registration name and code.
