So which version do you think is the most worth it. The 3 dollar version is only for the current one that seems pretty silly to me. 8 dollars for a few minor upgrades and 40 for everything in all future. Hmmm....
I bought the lifetime one years ago and never regretted it. I must have come back to the game 20 or 30 times since then, sometimes for a day or two just to see what changed and sometimes for a month if I got into it again. It has changed a lot since I bought it, mostly for the better (I sometimes miss the old caves that you could delve deep into, though). Some of the versions I played years ago of the game still had a monetary system and buying/selling instead of the bartering system now. Since I bought my license it's like a whole new game though - new map generator, improved combat system, improved construction system, improved crafting system, the ability to create mods, improved NPCs and villages. Even the way food works is different.
It states on the page that the major version will go up to 3.15 before going over to another major version, so that's only 1 more minor before the next major one. But the price for it shows $5 right now, so I think it's taking that fact into account. The $3 one gives you a perfectly playable game and any bug fixes for the current minor version, all you'd be missing out on compared to the major is whatever features get added to 3.15.
Have you tried the game yet? I'd say try the demo. If you really love it and expect that you'll come back to it over the years like I have, buy the lifetime one. If you're not so sure about it, grab the $3 one. If you're somewhere in between and want to make sure you get the features that are coming up in 3.15 at a $1 discount, grab the $5 one.
This is so weird...
...Luring driik people into the woods and killing them is more efficient than hunting for some reason.
It may be because I have almost no luck with hunting, but... yeah.
Disturbing.
On the bright side, I now have 4 x 19 bundles of smoked meat for the winter.
The game should probably have a stronger response toward murder and cannibalism. I mean, if every time you're seen around people disappear folks should start getting suspicious and eventually word would get around and villages of that culture should start attacking you.
I for one never kill and eat non-hostile people. I've eaten the Njerpezit warrior guys if I was desperate, but usually I manage to find an alternative. I just don't think your average URW character would be fine with casually murdering and eating villagers, then going into town like nothing happened. Unless you're playing as a sociopath.
