A forbidden door would work nicely.   ;D

No I didn't use the towers, I'm afraid to use them unless their siege has few or no ranged people.

You could turn the tower into a mini fort.

Toss a few dwarfs in there, one of every important job, (grower, brewer, weapon smith, and what ever the hell else you want) add food, and occasionally drop a few iron bars inside, than add a good deal of your marksdwarfs in there.

Seal off from the rest of world.

???

Profit!

Why? They're just as well protected against ranged attacks as the tunnel.

14th Moonstone, 210, Early-Winter:

I've sent some marksdwarves to deal with this squad that's is getting too close to a tower.  Our guys shouldn't get hurt.

We need to do something while they're here.

Working really good, we got atleast four with only one marksdwarf!  We have only 4 others that are able to move and they're busy drinking.  The other squads don't seem to care that one is getting holes put through them.

Argh! You're starting a succession again already?

It was really starting to get good too. Oh well hopefully we can get a willing volunteer some time soon.

I can always go again, I was just asking.   ;D

But atlast, I will be gone this weekend again and my or may not have a computer with internet connection.  I'm probably leaving in a hour so I was wondering if someone would take over next year while I leave for a bit.  I only said this because if no one volunteers then I won't be posting updates until Monday.

Is the timeframe this weekend? If I'd have a week, I'd be happy to take a year in DeathQuest. If it's just the weekend, though, I'm not sure I'd have the time.

Alright, when I get home Sunday I'll give you the save.  I'll probably going to have to write some notes on what everything does unless you want to just jump in.  Like how to fill the water tub thing.

EDIT:  You can take the whole week if you want, I'm not rushing.

SAVE:   http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=786

Here you go Rysith, I'll update the first page again.

Some notes,

1)  The screwpump on the lowest level controls whether the water goes into the tower or not, but I would advice to not do it until you clean up the mess at the bottom of the water tower.  Make sure to keep it manual or it would over flow without control.

2)  'Thob' is in the militray, but I don't want him fighting Orcs until he is more skilled.

3)THERE IS ORCS OUT SIDE, DON'T LOWER THE BRIDGE!!  UNLESS YOU WANT US TO LOSE!  OUR MILITARY CAN'T TAKE THEM RIGHT NOW, HOPEFULLY THEY LEAVE BEFORE THE MIGRANTS AND ELFS!

4)  ???

5)  DEATHQUEST

I'm sure I'll be able to figure out what everything does, as long as there aren't any "Destroy the Fortress" levers. Point three sounds like a challenge, though...
