I hope your fort is waterproof, because otherwise your DEAD. Good going, good story. Is it true that the guards don't need to sleep, eat or drink?

Hey, Creamcorn!  I wonder where you went.

Yes, my fort is water proof.  I think.  Hmmm...do you question my judgement?!

Cavaran Guards don't need anything to survive.  They're like pets.  Fortress Guards are different however....

Alright, I guess I'm doing next year.  I don't think anybody want to play while the water fills up.  8 FPS is a dozzy.

I can knock them out over the cage traps, but I don't think I can tame them.  Or can I?

So....uhh does anyone want to play next year?  I'm just wondering, because I'm going to play next year tommorow or something.

Or is everyone afraid of the FPS?

I might play in a couple of turns. That is, as long as you don't mind a blundering idiot looking after your fortress.

You could start a zoo and end up with a natural history museum, I'm sure no one would mind.

Couple of turns, alright.  Any takers for the next turn?  I know Creamcorn doesn't like anybody else playing, but this gives me a break.  I'm only human.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Granite, 215, Early-Spring:

FROM THE JOURNAL OF 'ORCY' THE CHAMPION MARKSDWARF

"Stop the pumps."

Those were the last words of 'ToonyMan' the King before he went to bed today.  This has sturred up some commotion.  The pumps have been goiing for 2 long years.  Why stop now?  I suspect that they will evaporate very quickly, given the large area we inhabit.  Does he want us to face our fears.  I don't fear the Orcs.  I've killed 37 infact!

He'll tell us tommorow, I know it.

[OOC]  Agh,  I feel stupid that the pumps would never work.  Ofcourse, this is DF, so who cares!  :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd Granite, 215, Early-Spring:

He told us alright.  He told us.  He wants to fight the Orcs.  No more hiding.  We are to clear this water from the surface and when the time comes.....to fight.  This didn't disturb me at all, but some other VERY SKILLED military dwarves are shaking in their boots.  They havn't even seen an orc before!  This worries me, but when the time comes, I think we should be ok.  Ok...ok........

[OOC]  IT'S SO FAST!!! FAST!! FAST!!!  WOOH!!! 10 times faster without this water!!!!!!!!!!

13th Granite, 215, Early-Spring:

"Lower the drawbridge!"

We followed his command.  I havn't been outside in years.  I hear there is some groundhogs I can shot at.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

15th Granite, 215, Early-Spring:

I remember why the King hates the outside.

I should of been out their, protecting our citizens...

LATER....

The news came in, all of the kobolds were killed, excpet for one that escaped.  The citizen workers did all the work.  A child was given some broken limbs.  Looks really bad, also a engineer was badly hurt too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd Slate, 215, Mid-Spring:

Less than a month and all the work is gone.  All gone.

    (500th picture!)

The King made the right choice.  Anyway, today I was set to protect our haulers from any ambushes from the watch tower.  The King made no mistake, I can shoot a fly's wings off from half a mile away.

Is that why you had to shut down the pumps?

Nah, I just want to fight some Orc scum!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!  Just let me go through BlindQuest for a year, (which will take less than a hour) then I'll be right back on DeathQuest (MAYBE, LITTLE BREAKS DON'T HURT WHEN I DO THIS ON MY OWN TIME).   ;D

That is, when I wake up tommorow.....when I get some sleep, it's late here.   ;)

woot! awsome fort you have. and sadly you did not completely flood the world. sad truth of infinity sources is that does not mean you get it all at once, you need more pumps on the ground floor. as long as you have a good 7 deep on the bottom it does not matter how slowly the top fills.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

18th Slate, 215, Mid-Spring:

We have been just making up for lost time so far.  I havn't been doin' much as of late.

I heard that we're making an alt. entrance to the lowest level of our fort to get some more rock.  Seems there was a flooding a while back.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Felsite, 215, Late-Spring:

The water is spreading out like butter on a sandwich.  Yum.

Wait....what the heck is a sandwich?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd Felsite, 215, Late-Spring:

An amazing thing happen today.  'Tholtig' grew up to become a peasant.  That means she has been around this fort for 12 years since she was born.  I greeted her and talked all about her.  So did everybody else in this fortress.  She has become real famous.

The first real child born here and grownup here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

27th Felsite, 215, Late-Spring:

We have been making a TON of statues to make I suppose the citizens of DeathQuest happier.  There has got to be atleast 20 master piece statues in there.

I MUST show my worth by fighting these orcs in the summer.  I may have 36(I'm not exactally sure) kills....but I havn't killed an orc since 211.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:  Was going to post this yesterday, but ofcourse our cable was shut off by mistake.

How's Der Kartoffel going? Good collection of statues. Make many statues. Put them all. When you get more masterpieces, take away the bad ones and sell 'em. Repeat until you have only masterpieces
