---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

26th Slate, 210, Mid-Spring:

Another child went berserk.  Sadly, he previously destroyed his door so he is going to have to be shot down.

I think his parents were dead anyway.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

22nd Felsite, 210, Late-Spring:

The rest of spring was uneventful, only noting the rhesus macque bunch that was slaughtered by the traps.

I second tower is being made also for my OCD.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12th Hematite, 210, Early-Summer:

Humans have been spotted east of our fort!  They don't look friendly either.

The leader is a lasher on a horse, then a few wrestlers, and alot of crossbow humans.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

17th Hematite, 210, Early-Summer:

They are just circling the fort, but just now they sent one guy to us.  Odd.

He is going to be either swiss cheese or a pin cushion.  Take your pick.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

19th Hematite, 210, Early-Summer:

They have set up camp next to our wood cutting area and have sent five more guys.  Single-Filed.  One by one.  Easy as pie.

Hopefully, they will bring the last bunch in a GROUP so that it is movie worthy.

LATER.....

DAMN!!

Some blind crossbow human broke Bim's arm (the macedwarf)  how did that happen?

Oh, and yes only 3 of the 9 wrestlers bothered to show up.  I mean, even 'Baby' showed up!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

23rd Hematite, 210, Early-Summer:

The last four scraps ran off, hahha.  I didn't even see their leader lasher.  He must of fled early, hahah.

We had two injurys.

One was a mace dwarf who got his arm broken by a blind marksman.

Second was a crossbow dwarf who had no bolts left so he thought he could charge at the enemy, he broke his leg and crawled back home.

This was really not as exciting as the Orcs, boo.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THAT'S IT!! I'M SICK OF TINYPIC,  IT KEEPS CRASHING WHEN I HAVE PAIN STACKNLY UPLOADED 10 FILES ONE BY ONE!!  I LOSE EVERYTHING!!   I'M USING PHOTOBUCKET NOW,  IT IS SO MUCH BETTER!!   ;D  I GET TO KEEP EVERYTHING AND IT DOES MORE THEN ONE!!

Who killed the merchant?

Also, human seiges rapidly get exciting, especially when they have a local leader pulling the parthian shot.

Remember when the Human Diplomat got mauled by a bunch of goblins when it was your turn.  I think that makes Humans instantly hate you.

4th Malachite, 210, Mid-Summer:

We have started pumping out the pond that has been in the way for so long.  We were orginally going to dig out the bottom and let it spread out and evaporate, but that might spoil the food.(?)  Plus nobody likes soggy *char roasts* anyway.

We have also started a massive cutting project to cut down all the tress, ALL OF THEM.  We want alot of charcoal for our smelters.

Well, alot.  We'll see where it goes.  I have been too busy butchering animals I don't have time to cut trees down right now, too bad.

[OOC]  I'm lossing my RPing.   :(

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agh, I'm trying to finish this summer, but DF keeps turning black and going all funky.   ???    I'll see what I can do.

I'm at Late-Summer right now and we have almost 300 trees!  :)

Also, our armorer has been pumping out iron plate mail like a madman for all our guys.   ;)

You may want to try the following for increasing FPS.

Atom smashing useless items, decreasing the distance dwarfs have to walk from place to place, and also penning up all the animals in one spot.

Nah, I honstly like having 18 FPS.  I think it is the best speed to play DF (when you have over 100 dwarves though).

I'll do it anyway now though, think about the people first ToonyMan.  ;)

23rd Galena, 210, Late-Summer:

'Zerg' walked up to me today, the only noble I like.  He said that we have reached the 1,000,000 munny mark.  Saying that it's our 10th year that isn't very good, but it's a achievment.  I just nodded.  He walked away, I think we understand each other.

The floor is almost paved now, we're like a mountainhome now.  We just need more dwarves.  More hauling, my god.  There is so much hauling, it would take YEARS to move everything to it's rightful place, 20 more dwarves would help alot now.

The place is a mess.

Now that's not very optimistic! Like I always say, if you're not doing well enough use more draw bridges!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

13th Limestone, 210, Early-Autumn:

Can they leave us alone for one season!  The freakin Orcs are here again.

(400th picture!!)

I'll count their numbers, we should be ready.

LATER........

4 squads were counted, all four have guards in them (one naked).  We'll do the same as last time, but now there is only 64 orcs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

21st Limestone, 210, Early-Autumn:

The military came down into the storage room covered in blood and vomit, whining over there friends deaths.  I went upstairs, well, umm...to see this.

I've seen lots of aftermaths with big battles, but never with my own fort.  Two marksdwarves are just staring at the ground, looking at the orcs and their buddies they have been friends with for so long.  We lost about 8 soldiers in the battle.

Monom Keboncerol Rumadbasen Rakas or "The Dull Spray of Strand"  is the best marksdwarf we have.  He was one of the first and one of the three survivors in that hellish battle in 204.  He managed to get 10 this year.  He is getting a good tomb.

We just call this one 'Jumppy' yes with two p's.  Haha, he is a twitchy fella who can't wait for a fight, he rushed into battle with the macedwarves and almost got killed until Monom came.  His arm got broken though.

The two staring at the bodies were Monom and 'Jumppy'.  They got to see the Orcs flee, everyone else was either dead or too busy drinking.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4th Sandstone, 210, Mid-Autumn:

We caught about 5 dwarves by mistake with the cage traps caught a few Orcs too.  Then we found out that 'CatLover' was alive!  I was sure he was dead, he was stupid enough to charge the Orcs byhimself and get ripped to shreds.

We'll relea---what's that Monom? You found an arm? It's CatLover's isn't it?  *sigh*

There is more too.  We need to get him a bed to sleep in.  The others too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd Timber, 210, Late-Autumn:

Same old, same old.  The bodies keep getting moved and moved.  They won't stop.  I'm running out of space in my journal.

The Hammerer Tower is almost complete, just got to do the roof.  Agh, I'm going to bed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING IT IS TO LOSE POWER FOR 1 SECOND WHILE PLAYING DWARF FORTRESS?  I DO!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

18th Timber, 210, Late-Autumn:

I went upstairs to the barracks a few hours ago to see no one sparring.  I was quite mad knowing that we could be attacked in the winter.  I went around trying to find a wrestler or melee dwarf when I ran into 'Pillow'.

He wasn't happy either.  Before I can ask him what he's doing he told me that everyone else is resting wounds...and he was right.  He was the only melee dwarf that was not injuryed.

I should spar with him, I WILL spar with him tommorow.  I'll just tell one of the armorers to make me a iron plate mail suit and will got at it.  Me with my axe and him with his mace.  We should be ok....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd Moonstone, 210, Early-Winter:

BEARS ON A DINNING ROOM!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11th Moonstone, 210, Early-Winter:

This is not our year.....

They just won't stop anymore, this is their life now.  Destroy DeathQuest.  There must not be anymore mountainhomes left either, because we get no migrants.

DUN DUN DUN.

[OOC]  Wow, Orcs in spring, autumn, and winter.  Humans in summer.  We got sieged every season.  Wow.  Wow.

I'm probably going to have to wait these guys out, because we have only half our military, ouch.  I'm not going to do anything stupid.  Like last time.

80 ORCS AGAIN BY-THE-WAY.

Trapavoid orcs, you say...

I suppose I didn't think of that since my traps are normally of the "no more floor" or "lots of water" variety, rather than just weapon/cage traps. Definitely something to consider for the next version, though.

Interesting fortress, and good to see the orcs wrecking havoc into year 10.

Yep, I think your 0.3 Orcs should have trapavoid, it makes it a lot more fun.  It actually makes you think, "Please, no siege this season no siege this season, DAMN!"

The only problem is you can just lock yourself into your fortress, but you're limiting yourself.

We need some way of locking the marksdwarves upstairs once the seige starts so this doesn't happen.

Also, were the towers manned?
