Yes. I have a perfect site. Magma pipe, flux, iron, bottomless pit, cave river, cave pool (what do you call these?), HFS, major win.

Personally I'd want sand that isn't red, flux (marble would be nice), magma for the forges, a forest, running water and pit to dump the waterfall water into. And of course, a cliffside to dig into. I don't feel digging a staircase down into the soil is very dwarven

Wouldn't think it's so hard but here I am whining about it. Probably has to do with my loathing of chasm fingers and seeing the nonsensical beginning/end of a cave river. Long rivers and pits are hard to find. Don't really like HFS either since it disables caravans

Is it just me or are mountains completely dead when it comes to volcanism these days? Only plains seem to have magma in them, mountains have bottomless pits where magma used to be in the previous versions. Volcanoes are basically just holes in the middle of some forest filled with magma. Anything bigger than a brook never runs by any kind of mountain either

Why does sand color matter?

Red sand is ugly.

I'm really paranoid about red sand. I always mistake it for blood.

I like red sand.

If you get an area with red sand and a lot of dark/black rock it looks magnificently evil.

Has anyone ever made a list of changes resulting from fiddling with stones and sand in such a way? Removing those microcline etc deposits is tempting but it'd probably result in rubies not existing or something equally undesirable

3x3 area with pit, HFS, magma pipe, black sand, cave river (and cave pool, though I didn't go looking for that) and no aquifer.  Took awhile to find that one.  There's a very long thread on worldgen parameters in this forum that may help you find what you're looking for.

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.

Blood is dark red.  Red sand is bright red.

Pray tell, what are the values for finding this awesome area?
