The diplomatic meeting:
After beeing greeted very warmly by representatives of the parliament, dressed in heavy robes in green and yellow, the representatives of the Hrun and the elves (not their guards) are lead into the palace.
It is mostly made of marble and glass, and heavily decorated with silver, and are highly decorated with Jasper and carnelian, gemstones set in flame-shapes.
They are lead into a dining room, where Hitengu dressed in red and orange are motioning you to sit down, on a round table, made of massive messing, decorated with lavish etchings.
You are sitting next to each other, the two representatives of the parliament around you, the last seat between them still empty.
Music from a Koto, a 13 strings zither is played, as Ranpu enters the room. She is dressed in a wide, perfectly white Kimono, with sleeves that hide her hands, decorated with elaborate flame motives. On her head is an elaborate glass crown, that is made from red, green, and even blue glass. The crown is shining from within, and the light is constantly shifting, giving the impression as if a flame of many colors is burning on her head.
"I am Ranpu, the 17th incarnation of the Hinyuudou. I welcome you to the City of Teiichi, and invite you to stay my guest as long as you want to.
I am very pleased to see the noble race of the flamewood elves still inhabit the country in the north, just as I am pleased to see new faces at this table.
Please, my dear lord, tell us everything about you, it interests me and my people very much."
Erak bows his head deeply when Ranpu appears and starts to talk:
"My name is Erak, and by bloodright and popular vote, I am chieftain of my people who are called the Hrun. We come from a different world, an ice world, transported here from yet another world much like this one. We faced a great foe in that world and we were brought here by our battle god Wotan for some reason that we don't know. This was the same for the two previous trips my kind has taken.
Our kind is, by legends, a merge between giants and humans, hence our great size and our human looks. We initially didn't know our purpose in our old ice world and the gods saw fit to give us one. Wotan, our god of battle, decided to claim us for his cause and made us what we are today. Slayers. We are a race of warfare, granted by our giant blood, and some of our people live for battle, as proven by the trophies that my brother here (Erak slaps his brother on the shoulder) can testify. Yet, because of the harsh climate and reality of our homeworld, we naturally accept other races hospitality and friendship. We have a saying; "Live together, die alone" that sums up what our experiences on our homeworld was like. I apoligize if any of this upsets you, but it was how we lived until our god decided to send us to a new world for whatever reason he wanted.
And so we arrived here in one of our great ships, the Halycon, and we set up the basics of a town when your scouts arrived and told us a bit about your kind. Thats pretty much all of interest at the moment, but we don't mind if you send some of your people to gain more of our history. We would also like to find out more about our gracious hosts' history."
In the background, some servants are scribbling down everything that is said.
"Our kind as a great interest in history, and as such, your offer is very welcome. Whenever you prepare to leave, I will send a few writers with you, to record your history."
Before the political talk starts, plates of white jade, filled with a wide array of fruits are placed in front of every person on the table, along with both a glass of water, and a glass of soem alcoholic bewerage, which seems like it was made of plums.
Ranpu flashes a fan made of white jade and red silk, and uses it to conseal her mouth while she eats with the other.
The Hrun pick up the chopsticks and look at them. In their hands, they are little more than spliters to them and the two misia give each other a look asking what they are used for. Erak simply looks at how the others eat and copies them easily while the misia struggle with doing this. They resort to stabbing the fruit, much to the meriment of Erak and all who are watching.
After eating, which was filled with animous chat between the parliamentarians and the guests, Ranpu again raises her voice, and the servants clear the table.
