((A quick post to give Akroma/polifar to control me during one battle I can't be IRC. HOWEVER this is only as long as they do not get me killed and should I die it is retroactively disallowed. (presumably meaning the GM have to Deus ex Machina me alive or not allow them to control me) ))

Turn 17
Year 1, Month of ?

A new and strange month begins. Many were expecting a new spring to come forth after winter yet were surprised by this new and strange season. It looked as if time had stopped its flow. Animals made no noise, wind ceased blowing, clouds sat unmoving in the sky. No one knew what this meant but all hoped it was nothing to be worried about. In this strange month that has no name in the human tongue everything is still, nothing grows as if refusing nature's way. Is it a curse from the gods ? An unknown happening in this world ? Who is to say what the Battle of the Gods can cause to nature.

Meanwhile, far away from the planet, Ukko stops hurling asteroids toward the planet. He packs his net and begind to move back to the Palace of the Gods knowing fully well that the Flamewood and its Elves would never be able to survive this attack.

In the Palace Ukko's move had not gone unnoticed. Many gods were intently watching the attempt to wipe out all life in the Flamewood. One deity was very unhappy. Voral, god of the Flamewood elves had prepared for this onslaught. Gathering his powers over fire he began to wait until the asteroids hit the planet's atmosphere. Then he bagan his move. He appeared high above the skies and broke the meteors into smaller pieces, one by one, as they approached the Flamewood and Echogroth. He knew it wasn't enough to prevent the strike, but some damage would be averted.

Finally all of the meteors were broken and a rain of fire began around the flamewood. Echogroth was covered by a shield that turned away the pieces and so was the northern fortress. Yet other flaming bits hit trees and fires erupted. Animals burned and dies, as well as people. They died silently as the climate, or lack thereof, made them unwilling to make a sound, even cries of pain and agony.

((This turn's specials : Any army within the Flamewood (any tile within two tiles range from Echogroth) loses 25% of its troops due to meteor bombardment and heavy forest fires. Units within an elven city (Echogroth or the fortress) are not affected.

EDIT : Next turn will be on Firday (yes, christmas is annoying).))

((First of all, Merry Christmas to all! :) ))

Turn 17: Silent Preparations

Danalof had been wandering aimlessly for the last few days of the last month of winter. He had teleported out of the giant's town and was searching for Uchi while caring for poor Kcirph. He had expected such a meteoric impact, but was still trying to figure out from where it had came. It could not have been just a random coincidence. Maybe the storm giants somehow summoned it to get rid of the elves south of them? After all, they had had some way of launching thunder down on Uchi that even he himself, a master of fire and air, had barely been able to affect. Maybe their god was getting active? And what about this strange climate, does it have anything to do with all that?

Luckily, Uchi had survived. And now, thanks to some divination, Danalof had seen the Uchi was on his way back to the Hitengu capital. Now was not the time to go all the way back on foot, alot of preparations had to be made. It was time to put the portal in Teichii to use. He could have teleported there with just a few hour's worth of preparations, but decided to take a few days instead for careful precautions so as no to hurt Kcirph any more. Thus, a few days into the nameless month, Danalof was back to his new home in Teichii.

No time to rest. Danalof asked the Hitengu to send a light message to Kawareidou so that Uchi would know he was fine and back home. Then he asked the Hitengu glassworkers and other craftsman to build him a useful lab at his home, so that he could more easily make artifacts from now on. Then, he began planning what artifacts he will be making to help in this war... ((If I find time during these few days, I'll send Istrian a list to be approved))

Their survey complete, the three southern units unite and begin their trek back to Citadel City. From the Clock tower, units of an unknown matter are spotted. Engineers begin work on optics to create better monoscopes, telescopes, and binoculars, but results are not expected any time in the immediate future. The northern and eastern scout units begin their return as well.

Spoiler: Growth (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Totals (click to show/hide)

Preparations are made to send out a stronger, military-grade scout unit with full support upon the return of the first-wave scouts.
