It would be pretty bizarre to have gigantic stone bridges soaring everywhere.  Historically, even building bridges over rivers has been a difficult task.

For dwarf roads where the cliff is really a gap, sure...  Hard to build a bridge into a cliffside even if you are a dwarf... ;)

If a cliff breaks a road then make a bridge. It's not that hard to code.

Apparently it is...  It's at least harder/less interesting than the other things that are being done right now.

IRL : Yes

In game: No, more like underdark/cave adaption type stuff...

Anywho, doesn't matter, it'll get done eventually, there's just some debate over how urgent getting the fix in is.
