Let us see how our units died, dangit!
« on: November 15, 2008, 07:46:10 pm »

I'm getting fed up with having my units (or indeed, some of the goblin leaders) corpses being uncheckable.

The final straw was when my high master hammer lord lost to three goblin wrestlers and a goblin speardwarf. He had only bruises, and BAM, he's dead. Did his head get stabbed out, or his heart? It's the kind of stuff I'm interested in, and I can't find any way to check it.

Ok, I admit that's an interesting typo. Anyway, I'd like it to be an actual game functionality, and not a mod.

Agreed. The ability to inspect a corpse and see its wounds would be another good way to do it.

We should seriously have mission logs in the soon to be implemented libraries.

Seconded. I would really like to know where this pile of corpses came from or how it got into my fortress. Dwarves just seem to disappear when I'm not viewing them, and then reappear in the mass graves.

Yeah, combat announcements are a must.  The Dwarf Companion thing works reasonably well, but it's annoying to start it each time, plus it doesn't differentiate sparring from combat.

Don't bring that shit here.

Yeah, combat announcements are a must.

IIRC Toady will implement this, while he is working on the Army Arc.

I'd like to insert a "yay!" in response to the general idea of more information on dead dwarves. Including cause of death.

We could add the Dwarblin to the raws, but what would we do with it?

dwarblin would randomly mine your maps while speaking gobbo, thus becoming a threat in the minds of your dwarves....... ;D
