"The War of Abbeymace"

Truly, the greatest conflict ever to rock the Eternal Universe. 6 civilization, the elves, most of the dwarves(Aside from one civilization consisting of 2 fortresses), and seven human towns were annihilated. The bloodshed was so great, and so many died, that the world was literally empty of life in the NW corner of the map, which at one time had been home to 3 of the civilizations. And what was the war ABOUT?!

About a stolen item.

A sock.

well maybe it was a really NICE sock.
if so then the war is justified.

wars with modded-in civs are strange: one single attack can consist of 200 people, and often get severly owned by one person.

no, just everyone who lives in a forest retreat or has bad weapons and armour.

stranger more, I've noticed that forest retreats that have been taken over by  another race seem to have ridiculous amounts of soldiers, but this is good because humans and dwarves have sweet gear.

186 avari(legendary lands) Vs. 17 humans
the humans lost 8 but the avari lost 70.

My biggest war by far was thanks to the Legendary Lands mod (its currently ongoing):

First Battle
776 hobgoblins, 1 implord
vs.
638 humans

Losses: 312 for the hobgoblins, 412 humans (oddly, humans won, possibly because the implord died)

Second Battle
676 hobgoblins, 1 human
vs
465 humans

Losses: 326 hobgoblins
173 humans
Defenders won

Third Battle (Siege)
519 hobgoblins
vs
350 humans

Losses: 242 hobgoblins
100 humans
Defenders won, again

Statistics: Total fighters on the hobgoblins' side: 1973 (1971 hobgoblins, 1 implord, 1 human)
Total hobgoblin losses: 880

Total fighters on humans' side: 1453
Total human losses: 685

My strangest war(s) were waged by about three different civilisations on the same five people (5 chaos lords against one dwarven civ and two human civs), and the chaos lords won every time(One of them apparently died in the very first battle, but by the next battle, they were back up to 5). It was particularly brutal, and those 5 chaos lords must be the most badass characters in the entire land

How do you find out the reasons for a war? All it says for me is one of the main causes was *some undetailed problem*.

That is the reason for war. The undetailed problem. I usually assume you have to think for yourself the exact reason.

So if it stated that the war was started because of an item being stolen, you have to assume that the item was not valuable, hence it was a sock that was stolen.

Actually, the item stolen will appear in the thief's history, won't it?

Possibly. But I don't know exactly how to determine what item theft caused the war to begin with.

And war actually have multiple causes. A war may be caused by theivery, but if you look at the Legend screen again, you'll see that it was also caused over a dispute over oath breaking.
