Well Dragons and a Collosus arn't exactly good ideas to judge the size of a tile since it isn't an exact measurement

Anyhow let me see...

Size 20 is a whale shark... assuming Wikipedia is correct (which it often isn't) is 40 feet long and an unknown width.

So that is around 2 feet per size and since there is nothing above Size 20, this gives us an estimate that each square is 40 feet by 40 feet.

Of course that is only if we apply real world physics.

Of course as we know the Earth to the moon axis is an ENTIRELY different story.

but if two dwarves in one tile is consdered cramped....

holy territorial dwarves batman :P or maybe they are just all crazy?

I figure that "bed" tiles are the center of the bed, and it is assumed to extend into other tiles. Same thing with large creatures- the center is where you have to aim.

Of course, that could change as the game develops. Toady one has considered making multi-tile creatures, but that has a number of technological issues and I'm not sure what his final plans where.

Uhh they are crazy... at least by human standards.

They probably see us as crazy or at least unemotional.

Dwarf: "You just passed by that door like it was nothing"
Human: "So?"
Dwarf: "SO!?! LOOK AT THAT DOOR!!! How could you NOT be in awe!"
Human: "Dude, it is just a door"
Dwarf: "JUST A DOOR!?!"

I don't think size is linear....

Alright then lets take it like this... 20x2=40... So Number x (Number /10)

So 6 x .6 = 3.6

Dwarves are 3.6 feet tall

Humans in this setting are 4.9 feet tall

Hmm Ill try to do other math

Maybe multi-tile creatures could still occupy one square, but have 'limbs' extending outwards.

Human is size 7, horse is size 9... about two times larger than human. So... theres, an sqrt(2) multiplying for each size. size 20 - 40ft, size 18 - 20 ft, size 16 - 10 ft, size 14 - 5 ft... DRATS!

F(x)=(x*3/4)*(x/7)

Human ((7 * 3) / 4) * (7 / 7) = 5.25 ft
Whale ((20 * 3) / 4) * (20 / 7) = 42.86 ft
Dwarf ((6 * 3) / 4) * (6 / 7) = 3.89 ft
Horse ((9 * 3) / 4) * (9 / 7) = 8.68 ft

Woah.

Maybe the dragons and collosi are just... really really small. I mean, they're probably skinny and stunted and all, considering I never actually see them eat. Same for most things come think of it.

Humans being 4.9 feet tall might not be all that unreasonable. Medieval nutrition, eh?
