No, stop summoning things that could kill us and get digging! We need a moat, then we need to start digging lodgings.

I should at least take care of the wasp before digging a moat. Besides, I plan on becoming a conjurer.

also, i suggest (seriously this time) to start chopping some real wood, to scout for water. if you manage to find a river, it would be good to build a camp there, where you will have unlimited water and where you could fish

edit: also, martian is right. a moat alone is mostly unuseful against the dangerous animals you might find. you would need a wall behind it to make it useful. or make the moat very big.

Alright, reverse that. Jay, use the earth to make a wall!

what you should do is summoning a bigger elemental to deal with the old one.

lol.

You guys, I can try and keep our water supply going with some of the water in the ground. The only problem might be that it could possibly dry up sooner or later. Maybe you should dig, too. There's some funky rocks down there somewhere... It's probably ruins!

Note: Large cats can jump. Easily over a metre wide moat.
Which is why we also build a wall behind it.

I've realized something. I've forgotten about the penalty for carrying treasure. In anycase that's an unfun rule. From now on it's -1 per every 10% after the first 30%.

A rough sketch of the first level of our fortress:

What do you think? We can shoot from behind those fortifications with mind powers and bows.

Good idea, but I think there should be a channel in front of fortifications, like this:

Code: [Select]
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒...▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒

▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒...▒___▒...▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
▒▒Main Staircase→▒.>.┼...┼.<.▒←To Surface
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒...▒§§§▒...▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒

Mind powers can affect anything you can see. They aren't really effected by ranges though extreme distances will get a penalty. Just to clear things up.

Why is the channel needed? I always assumed that fortifications were arrow slits in a wall.

EDIT: On second thought, there is no telling what Martian will be throwing at us. We'd better have the channel.

So do we need to tame animals to keep them friendly, or just hope that they we dont get an 8+?

I use my powers to create a 2m wide moat around the outer edge of the clearing.

May not stop everything, but it would be hard to get across without alerting us.

That's gonna require a lot of energy, isn't it?

Shouldn't require too much, I'm just moving it. Besides, I could just take some energy from surrounding plants.

Oh right. Well, you should move that dirt into a wall.
