to make an axe you need a branch+iron. (raw iron not bar iron)
EDIT: you also need the hammer too.

Thanks. I actually figured it out with the help of my sister - who has elected to speed through the adventure while I wait on the original island to prepare. We shall see who does better - so far it looks like me, with far more tools and buildings, as well as grapes, berries and grain. ;D

It's not a mountain. These are rocks/reefs and it ended there after a storm: the boat was pierced by a rock after it landed on reefs.

So the storm threw the ship up forty feet onto a perfect point? :P Also, if you're going to the new world on a wooden boat, why is there a modern lighter on shore? [/nitpicks]

Otherwise, it's a lot of fun. I fully approve! :D

Do you still have to click 200 times to add the 200 whatevers to the thing your building, or have they finally fixed that so you can just use whatever you carry at once?

I guess I could install it to find out, but I am lazy :) Just remember getting so annoyed that I was click -> add stone or something over and over.

I just ignored the whole lockpick thing and made a comfortable, permanent living on the shore you wash up on. Did you know you can plant red-berries and grapes like you can plant grain? I make my own hooch and bread, supplemented with kiwi meat and fried fish.

Also, the tent is great for travelling in. Whenever you're advancing to another island or whatever else, take a tent on your boat. You can set it up again soon as you hit the shore.

Also is anyone else irritated by how the rain goes right through your roof?

I'm more pissed about how it only appears in front of you and you can't drink it.

This game was fun up until I had built everything that there was to build, maybe even a little sooner. Then it instantly got old.

I have to agree with Fenrir. Once you get everything built, your done. The lack of win conditions, even insanely hard ones, limits enjoyment once you get everything built. Thought I suppose raising an army of monkeys and raptors might be worthwhile.

This is why this game just plain needs multiplayer,if it had that its playability would boost ten fold.

You'd need to do something about sleeping though. Time skips don't work well in multiplayer ;)

How difficult would adding multiplayer be?

As shades said, sleeping would be the major hurdle.

There is actually a in game chat system already,it just has no current purpose.

I have no idea coding wise.

Nuke sleeping if it's going to stand in the way.

I just thought that. O)

I'm imagining 4 players, two work together the others fighting amongst themselves.

Another issue would be the need to code certain objects/tamed creatures to either attack or ignore people the owner deems enemy/ally.

Still another,I'm pretty sure the player has no model, more importantly I'm not sure if there is suitable code for players having models. Nevah mind.
