i am having some problems in my island... but tehre is one for which i need help. how do i sow grain??
i hold it, i click toward the ground and it says that i have to put it in my hand and use it on the ground.
what do i do?

forget what i said. i managed to do it. my next problem is fishing rod, but i'll  try to do it alone... untill island run out of animals. no more lions spawned

fishing rod = bamboo+ thread + ?
i can't keep fishing with an hammer.

and i need to build mroe things, and then try to find an axe. cutting trees with hammer isn't good.

OK, just make sure you've tried a few normal games before you try to start mine: I have most things in a hardcore way and there're deadly creatures on the island.

If something is not working, try different combinations:
1) Make sure it's in your hand.
2) Click either Mouse1, Mouse2 or "Use" button (E for me).

Mouse1 is usually for attacks and breaking actions (chopping wood, mining rocks for stones and pebbles etc., while mouse 2 is for special item actions i.e. rod fishing, shovel digging and hammer building (and fletching in my mod with a knife) while E is for direct interaction with something before you, i.e. picking up objects, talking to NPC and maybe planting seeds, I don't remember).

yes, planting seeds is E. i am not using mods i think, i am using the link on the first post of the first page.

i am playing "adventure". and if i understand it well, i should move away from the island. i have everything ready but.. where do i go? just sail in a random direction?

No, there's a quest objective if I remember it right. Something related to a pirate treasure.
I find "adventure mode" to be bland, there're much more interesting mods like Kidnap mod, and even mine is better in some aspects. Come on, 20 branches to build a single torch? Bah...

there is only one box that i can't open, but it is stuck in sand. it seem i'll have to find a way to dig then. all this work on the sailboat wasted

ok, digging won't help. i am trying to burn the wooden box... it is locked and "too stable" to destroy. must be something important.

and... i give up on the fishing rod.i have no more ideas. the fish was the last entry on the diary. maybe i have to make a fishing rod before i can go on?

it seem i need so much for this first island. well, i'll start sowing again.
and ill build an hut. it seem i'll stay here forever.

meanwhile, i keep tryog to get fishing rod. till then, i'll hnt fishes with melee weapons and i'll eat insects.

edit: do trees regrow? i might run out of logs soon or later

Trees don't regrow, but at a certain planter level(200?) you can plant branches so that they'll grow into trees.

Also, fishing rod needs bendable branch + thread.

Just don't eat butterflies. Note that they give you weight reduction.

Some quick tips.

Capture butterflies with the net.

Build the best shelter you can, either the treehouse or the log cabin.

Stock up on bread, and berry juice. Large fried meat is also good.

For story mode, make sure you carry a GOOD weapon with you. Fire arrows are easy to make, and with a long bow have incredible range. Also carry a pair of flint and food with you.

Using a net against a resource does almost no damage to that source while still harvesting the resources involved. Great for bamboo and those short vine only trees.

If your trying to kill time waiting for grain or hemp to grow, pull out your shovel. Using it massively increases your hunger, thirst, and tiredness, and allows you to sleep much sooner then normal. Plus you can find mushrooms and other useful things underground.

Always build any new building that you can. Most have fairly obvious uses, but certain structures aren't obvious but extremely useful.

wow, i was already doing all that (and i was lucky with butterflies. i found 40 of them all in the same place)

my character found a lockpick when i built the tree house. now i am killing time with my shovel waiting for grain. after i harvest grain, i'll give parrot to pirate so that i can go with him (why, why did i spend so much time building an unuseful sailboat!!)

and.. what is bendable branch??
