Civ/Megabeast Megapack!
« on: November 09, 2008, 08:00:17 pm »

So, I have lots of civs, and I like having plenty of people to trade with besides the elves, because seriously, nobody likes elves.  Plus, having so many civs with so many seperate values means lots and lots of wars!

But it makes things tough on megabeasts, so...

It works like this!  I'm gonna bundle up every civ and megabeast I can find, if given permission by their owners, and redistribute it as a megapack just for that extra diversity.  Anybody have anything they want to contribute/permissions to give?

For Megabeasts?  Go crazy, as long as they're actually a proper creature and not just a meatgrinder.

For civs, try and keep them within relative strength of other civs, but feel free to give them some nifty accents.

I haven't done a whole lot of testing, and it doesn't seem to show up too often.

I've made dozens of mods over the aeons and lots of megabeasts/civs. Here's a couple of my favorites:

Titan Toads

Purring Hornet - the final form of the cute and cuddly purring maggot

Phoenix

Flamestriders - not true megabeasts, but nasty-ass lava spiders.

I had some fun making a megabeast like this.  It works better when you give them a pretty big clustersize.  Then, they move around in packs of gigantic monstrous wolves.  Makes up for the fact that they're not firebreathers, webbers, or have huge damblock.

That's cool. I'll have to look up the clustersize tag on the wiki; it's been a while since I last modded something.

This thread brings back memories, like Armok's hornet mod and Bay Watcher Arena. What ever happened to apache1990?

Dracon (Draconic humanoid.  Fortress and adventure playable)
Entity

Creature

Custom wings (same as normal only can't be used to wrestle)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They are supposed to only live in the tropics(as they freeze to death in winter elsewhere) But since I can't get tropical spots to show up reliably on smaller maps they're set to live on any plains.  They are also supposed to be able to fly but since that doesn't work in fortress mode it's commented.

Magmaproof heat tolerances, balanced by a weakness to below freezing temperatures.  Better than average natural attacks balanced by being carnivores.  They are also a bit slower than the other races.

EDIT: [trANCES] removed by request.
