Thats pretty much it.

Bell Party, seriously. You can take down Zeome and the Non-Frisia chaos forts with enough bell pets with spliced marksman and a half decent ranged weapon.

Yeah, casters are seriously weak, but spells are handy to have so i'm using them anyway.
I'm playing a panty welding warmage and i'm not really good at anything, but i can do everything instead.
Well, except carpentry, alchemy & tailoring.

Speaking of gene engineering.
The benefits are giving exp from higher level to subject, teaching one skill or adding bodyparts and that's it? No benefits from equal levels or so?

Got myself a silver bell and a Quickling archer, Need to get poison protection for the quickling though.

How many is enough? I had 3 or 4 bells, quickling archer, all with marksmanship, eye of mind, good weapons etc and zeome just heals himself every time. Chaos fort monsters just insta killed them.

GUESS WHAT
I made a dorf! Now you can play as one in Elona! :D
Just make sure you save as .bmp, kay? Or it wont upload right.

Save as pcc_body_3 if you don't have any other bodies.

Hmm, the dorf seems to be surrounded by bluish dust. I am going to have to fix this.

Blasphemy. The only race/class to play is Dwarf Warrior with 100000 points in shield.

what's it take to get anywhere in this game?

As a warmage, for me the biggest early increase in my power came from hiring a maid and trading with adventurers for better gear. A few artifacts at level 6 will make the game much easier. In particular you want a big-hitting weapon and some armor with big numbers.

Also, once you can survive hunting quests, train up your evasion potential and find a monster who misses a lot or doesn't hit hard, and get in some training. For me it was an asura. They attack a bunch of times but never seem to hit, so I was able to bump my evasion to 20 in just a few minutes. I'm currently level 15 and have 46% + 3d9 damage absorbtion and 107% evasion. Without a shield. Highly recommended.

Finally, take every opportunity to train. Harvest and performance quests are great for this. Even if there's no possible chance of you completeling a harvest quest, al that time picking vegetables will help you gain strength and constitution. Even without performer skill, performance quests give you some townsfolk targets to practice on. Plus, failing all the quests will help keep your fame down, which in the early game is a good thing, as higher fame means tougher monsters and rogue bosses.

Concerning this.
Fame affects highwaymen trying to rob you and the difficulty of quests while level affects summoned monsters and what generic dungeons that are available, correct?

Also, running around bashing the pots in the harvest quests often provides with crystals that you can use for the i want or birthday quests.

So THAT'S what sun crystals and things do?

Yup, delivery quests and pet potential.

You can also sell them for money, or place them at home for a very tiny home rank boost.

Or if you're a worshipper of Opatos of Earth or Jure of Healing, you can offer them to boost your favor.
