Anyway, I guess we should get this back on track. So has anyone actually bothered to save up the fuckton of money to but the castle? And if so can you eventually cancel out the tax from it with decorating?

Well, I'm still a great ways away from buying one, but according to the wiki, you can make a (small) profit off of it:

The table for the rest of the houses is on the wiki.  If you're going for profit, the best house is actually the shack.  But for actual utility (storage, hired shopkeepers) the castle wins hands-down.

My small castle is "Celebrity mansion Rank.9", giving me 2730 gold pieces. Wiki said it'll break even at level 16.

In total I'm losing about 600 gold each month, but that's easily found in a single dungeon dive.

It's been a long time since I loaded my save... I found my character has 4 eyes (+17 Perception -17 Charisma). It seems I was waiting for another ether symptom before drinking a potion of cure corruption (had 5 in backpack, should have more in stashes).

Well the shack allows so few items that unless your far in the game I'd think the Cottage would be better money and storage wise.

Though I can't see someone needing a Castle.

Recently got into this game. its hard, but quite fun, but I wish my minions would stop drinking water from wells whenever I walk by one. I've lost so many jobs that way.
