I have the same addiction to portions, really crazy since I carry around a bunch of unknown portions most of the time, but lucky most of the time I just get drunk

Ugh I can Finally fend off Rogue Bosses (at least the lowest level Rogue Boss)

My Museum is level 63 and I have no diseases... (63 means it gained 36 levels for 3600 gold per month income)

Should I post my character? I don't quite know how to do that.

Also I found out the "Leveling up" artifact is a specific kind of artifact ability.

Just wanted to point out:  It's better to starve to death than to go out in the etherwind, IMO at least.  And most certainly at lower levels, before the death penalty.  That stuff be nasty.

Also, cooking only improves if you're at least a little successful at cooking.  If you totally ruin a dish, you get nothing.  Cook at a food processor or oven or SOMEthing not hand-held or a campfire or etc, it'll help push you over the threshold to actually learn from it.

True dat. I got seriously screwed up by the etherwind. Between it, dream mutations (before I got exorcist), a robber with a wand of change other, and an accidental potion quaffing, I'm surprised I can move at all with all the minuses I have to speed. I'm not a bad blackjack player and I still have a hard time reliably getting 5 wins in a row, much less casino chips (I harvest everything). And of course the cure mutation potions I rarely find always seem cure the good mutations, while leaving the horrible ones.

It never takes me more than couple minutes to get a potion from blackjack... do you alt-f4 when you lose so as to save your tokens? Maybe my character has high luck or something. Should alt-f4 if the cure mutation doesn't remove bad mutation too... just enter town or house and try, quit, try, quit etc. Maybe some people think that's cheating but to me the randomness is too frustrating otherwise, because as you say it's hard to cure the debilitating mutations and diseases.

Also I found out the "Leveling up" artifact is a specific kind of artifact ability.

IIRC pressing F11 (or some combination) will create a text file in the save folder. It contains all the information of your character and pets, actually even more than you can see in-game. It contains some Japanese characters, but you can understand it alright. It's also pretty long, so it's best to use a spoiler tag to contain them when posting.

Those living items are nasty. As you use them, they level up very slowly, and gains more bonus and powers. But as it grows higher and higher in level, it starts sucking your blood if you wield it, just like some cursed items.

Oh, and why are you guys struggling with ether diseases? Are you actively trying to get diseased in order to get some of those good ones? Etherwind only comes on months divisible by 3... so you just plan ahead and it's very easy to avoid. Just stay in your home/cave/permanently installed portable shelter and wait until it starts and passes. If you don't want to just wait inside, place some books and exercise machine beforehand, and include an instrument or two. Or simply redesign the place, fill it with blocks and mine them out to pass time.

With the seasonal etherwind out of the equation, the only source of ether disease is the background "radiation" and ether monsters, which you can get enough potions of cure corruption for easily from quests, shops and casino...

The majority of my ether disease mutations came from the first time I encountered the etherwind, and before I knew its patterns, and I was stuck between Vernis and Port Kapul. Since then it has been exacerbated by time, and a shining hedgehog. I have drank several cure corruption potions and have yet to be rid of even the first disease effect that I got.

Re: things to do while in your home, I need to get the shelter, an exercise machine, or some more relevant books. The mining bit is a good idea, though.

Bless your cure corruption potions. That makes it remove 2 ether diseases at once.

To create blessed water, find potions of water (a surprisingly rare potion), and drop them onto your god's altar. You may need sufficient favor.

The mining thing is an exploit - as you can train your skill, get more strength and sometimes gold and ore. But it does help you pass time while the etherwind's blowing. When I was stuck inside a dungeon during etherwind, I'll mine the whole level out if I've already killed all the monsters.

My catgirl has four legs.

This was an... unexpected development.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

Unexpected?

Every pet of mine has four legs... I'm like my horse ranch.

I can't figure out how to do the birthday quests...
This game is very odd. I enjoy it.

Basically they name an item, and you find it for them. They usually want junk items that you have little use for - they might even ask you to find a shit for their kids.

It's best to scout around town and see what's available in the shops/on the ground/in people's pocket before taking on those quests.

The "I'm jealous" quest is an easier variant of birthday quest - you get the name of a specific NPC (you can ask guards where they are) holding the item they want, and you can trade/steal it.

Yes, unexpected.

Too much cat, too little girl, I think.

I shall have to adjust the formula!

Oh, for those 'jealous' quests, it's worth understanding how trade works.

You go up to someone you can trade with.  Most often this will be the target of a jealousy quest.  You offer to trade, you pick the item you want, and then THEY will give YOU a list of your items that they *WILL ACCEPT* for it.  That is, never worry about saying "Well I don't want to offer them this rock, because what if they say no".  If you say "I want your piano", and you have a fish on the list of items to offer in exchange, they will accept that fish--guaranteed.

This can be very useful info when trading with adventurers, who often have SHINIES.

I am so glad I got Riding... My speed is now 105 (I am also glad I am no longer Anemic... Being unable to heal is horrible... but my Horse needs more of it)

If there was one thing I could remove from my character it would be Meditation because it takes up too much of my sleep. I never cast spells at it is at 19 (almost 20)

If you need to cast, unwield one of those weapons for a sec.
