I am playing a Lich Warmage and even after hours of grinding nearly evrything out there can murder me instantly. Am I doing something very very wrong?

I'm playing a fairy wizard. Best tactic for me seems to be equipping my juere infantry slave with great gear and letting him tank stuff while I blast spells or shoot arrows. Works best in 1 tile hallways, shoot the monster then get behind your tank. Doing quests seems way more profitable than killing stuff.

My goal right now is to get golden knight pet from opatos but I can't seem to offer enough ore. I'm at 18 faith so supposedly I'll get pet after enough offering but so far no luck. What is a good way to make money? I'm sick of doing errand quests... Almost have enough for museum I hope the profit from that isn't disappointing.

Unfortunately Errand Quests are the fastest way to make money (unless I guess you very far in the game.... which requires a ton of cash)

Though if your powerful enough to survive the trip to Noyel that is a great way to make money as well. The most I've seen for delivering something to Noyel was 10k.

Also don't bother selling anything until you have Negotiation. once again you will notice the difference even if your Charisma is 1.

Ugh it's so tedious, but I finally bought a museum at least. A good way to make a huge cash chain is buy like inner tube/rope cargo at port kapul, then try and link delivery/escort quests to vernia, palmia, then noyel where you sell the cargo. Can then buy xmas tree or snowmen in noyel and do the reverse route. Just be careful to watch your cargo weight (traveler's cargo food counts in cargo weight).

I have a question about getting the god pet. Are you supposed to Offer and constantly pray at altar, or do you offer without praying in order to "build up" favor? In other words is favor "spent" when you pray? I'm at 20 faith and it seems no matter how much I offer I'm not being granted the god pet.

I think you have to offer more, and read scrolls of faith.

Every time you pray, favor is used up. Don't pray, and just keep offering stuff at the altar. You will get a special message when you have enough favor to get the god pet, but I think this message is mistranslated so all you get is "".

Scrolls of faith aren't that important. I've gotten all the way to the god weapon on Mani without using a single scroll of faith.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

Scroll of Faith speeds things up but it isn't needed. It is just as if you gave what your god wants to it.

Which in essence means that the Scroll of faith is rather weak

No, its not that weak. You can save them up and switch to a hard to please god, like the one who takes only staves or ones that has offerings that rot, and use them to quickly boost your favor. The hardest part is boosting the faith skill to get enough of a pool to get the goods.

Gods distinguish between Rotten and normal offerings now? hmm

I've been trying to get into this.  I've done a bunch of quests and have money, but I've wound up leveling just walking around.  Following forum advice, I've got a lvl 5 priest with a lot of money and speed gear.  I didn't manage to get farming with all the plat coins, a farm, and a large collection of rotten food.  This said, I've got a few of quick questions that I haven't been able to find answers.

Why did I work so hard to get farming going again?  It is a lot more trouble than other viable food.

I've got the proper religion and I'm almost killing my character carrying around too much rotten food.  When do the seeds come in?  Will the rotten food disappear when the seeds are given?  I've had this rotten food for weeks and pretty tired of carrying it around.

Seeds are far too rare outside of having the proper god.

The seeds are given when the food rots, not after it is already rotten.

Just wanted to point out:  It's better to starve to death than to go out in the etherwind, IMO at least.  And most certainly at lower levels, before the death penalty.  That stuff be nasty.

Also, cooking only improves if you're at least a little successful at cooking.  If you totally ruin a dish, you get nothing.  Cook at a food processor or oven or SOMEthing not hand-held or a campfire or etc, it'll help push you over the threshold to actually learn from it.

True dat. I got seriously screwed up by the etherwind. Between it, dream mutations (before I got exorcist), a robber with a wand of change other, and an accidental potion quaffing, I'm surprised I can move at all with all the minuses I have to speed. I'm not a bad blackjack player and I still have a hard time reliably getting 5 wins in a row, much less casino chips (I harvest everything). And of course the cure mutation potions I rarely find always seem cure the good mutations, while leaving the horrible ones.

I think I may just take my piles of gold and just travel around hoping to find cure mutation and cure corruption potions in the shops. The museum can wait.

Oh yeah, is there any other way to cure the alien baby issue other than giving someone dye or poison? There is this one guard next to two other guards in Palmia that was impregnated, and he has too much stuff to carry the potion, so he won't take it! As a result, every time I come to town there is a blood bath, with many NPCs dieing. I mean, now I have two figures of <Mia> the cat freak, but come on. It gets annoying/dangerous, since aliens seem to be powerful relative to those they incubated in (I can kill my own babies, but the guards babies one shot me).

Trade items with him. Get something to stack so he can open up an item slot.

Otherwise, nuke.

Right now I desperately need the Potion of Cure Corruption because I have IMO The worst disease of the bunch that forces me to randomly drink potions.

Luckly my character is all but immune to poisons or else he would be dead.
