I had all this crap, until I realized it was all worthless. Even after IDing it, most of it won't sell for more than 5 gold.

The guild ID price (half the normal ID price) is a godsend. I can ID all kinds of crap if I feel like it now... Which I do, because my last weapon got eaten alive trying to clean out all the slimes under Vernis.

Anyway, storage isn't a problem anymore, and money is slowly becoming less of a problem.

Anyone know what those kitty banks are for? I bought a cat bank with (500gp) after it, and all it appears to do is take 500 gold from me? =P I'm hoping it is storing it? But I don't know how to get it out. It's all sparkly glowy like Jar Jar in the Robot Chicken Star Wars spoof.

My most memorable meal was a buckler I had recently picked up. Apparently it was made of raw (which I assume is raw meat) or candy.

As a tip... Always get negotiation eventually, but expecially early in the game. TRUST ME! Even without Charisma (Charisma of 1 lets say) you will notice a difference.

Why this isn't one of the first tips in the Wiki is beyond me (interestingly the section ON negotation suggests to always have it)

Without Negotation everything is too expencive and nothing sells for decent prices.

I know but nothing really beats Vernis and Yowyn with their tons and tons of food laying around. Though yeah Palma would be in third place easily in terms of free food.

Most of the questions you ask are answered there.

When you use a kitty bank, you deposit the amount of money listed in the name. To remove the money, just throw the bank on the ground.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

The advantages is that money in the bank cannot be stollen and doesn't count as owned (so your taxes are less)

I finally got a Museum but surprisingly I don't get all that much money from all my cards and figures (The Wiki has some errors).

I am level 12 but my weapons are rather poor relative to my level. (My Cape and Armor is amazing though)

I am hoping someone with a good scimitar or dagger will visit the house.

What is a good time to start dungeon crawling?

I saw the wiki link you posted the first time Torak.

Most of the questions you ask are answered there.

I understand that, but the first time I looked over the wiki I found it to be rather sparse. In fact, questions that I have not asked here but sought to answer there weren't to be found, so I stopped relying on it for a bit.

I don't see why you feel the need to post the link either way. This is a forum right? Where people can talk about things and ask questions? In fact, I think that's the primary function of a forum. So why do you feel the need to repeatedly point me to the wiki? What do you have against asking getting the answers from other players instead of the wiki?

Or are you just being self-righteous? Because that's what I think it is, going by your posts in other threads.

Seriously dude, if you can answer your questions there, why should he take the time to write them out for you?  If you have questions that aren't answered there, by all means: ask.  But if they ARE, then he is completely right.

There are low level random dungeons that spawn around the map each game. I went to the bottom of one, but the boss disappeared after a mutant one-hit killed me a few times. It said "Blahblah the orc is no longer seen around here".

Even though I haven't done much dungeon crawling besides getting to level 8 or so of the main quest dungeon, I would say you could start checking out the ones that are in your level range just as soon as you're confident enough to fight slimes and mutants, juere infantry, etc. The dudes who can carry claymores and one-hit people. =P

He doesn't have to answer them either way. Nobody does. I'm sorry you feel it is such a burden to read my posts, but please savor the irony of the fact that your post was just as unproductive as the posts you are complaining about. You stopped and took time to bitch about my questions, but you can't take the time to answer them?

You're making the mistake in assuming that I didn't already try to find the information there, and simply overlooked the information. Have you looked at the wiki? As Neonevik mentioned, under negotiations it says negotiations is a very important skill, and yet it's not under the "tips for beginners".  I had poor luck finding information in the past, so I opted to ask here instead since, as far as I knew, I wasn't harming anyone.

Apparently that isn't the case. I seem to really be ruining your and Torvaks respective days. Please allow me to apologize for imposing on you in such a manner.

P.S. I just reread your statement: If I can't answer my questions on the wiki, why should anyone help me? But if I can't answer my questions on the wiki, then ask for help?  ???

I also better sign my post so that people know who I am, despite the fact they can find that information just to the left of my post.

Well the Wiki isn't perfect. I can more then see someone not being capable of finding a bit of information in the Wiki.

For example: How do you tell the difference between a randomly generated Artifact or a Named item? Are all items named and thus if you can't level it up it is because your not at the sufficiant level?

Relajas, dude.  Seriously.

Apparently that isn't the case. I seem to really be ruining your and Torvaks respective days. Please allow me to apologize for imposing on you in such a manner.

Fixed.  I should point out this link to ya.  We are not obligated to help you if you're being a jerk.

K.

Point 1: You're not ruining my day.
Point 2: I was pointing out the inconsistancy between asking for help and biting the hand that gave it.  Maybe it's not inconsistancy, but it sure ain't the wisest choice.

And, to stay in line with the thread, your quesitons, as best as I can(if not answered already):

>Also, does anyone know what "you feel closer to the world" means? I'm assuming it's some kind of stat or skill increase but I can't figure out which one.

::Perception

>Is it specifically the Derphy casino?

::No, the amount you bet also has an effect on what you get.  Bet low, get low.  At least, in my experience.  Maybe I've been lucky and you haven't.  BTW: Mewmewmew!! is an indicator that you should visit the casino.

>(Neonivek)For example: How do you tell the difference between a randomly generated Artifact or a Named item? Are all items named and thus if you can't level it up it is because your not at the sufficiant level?

::I've never run into any item that 'levels' up.  Not in this game, at least.  But maybe I've been lucky in other regards. :)

>(ThtblovesDF)  I am playing a Lich Warmage and even after hours of grinding nearly evrything out there can murder me instantly. Am I doing something very very wrong?

::Eh, no.  You'll get owned by virtually everything out there for a while.  Try to get some decent equipment and DON'T GO DUNGEON DIVING... unless you like seeing your own gravestone.  What that means is : do quests, get good equipment, keep your karma low, stay out of fights (unless you absolutely have to fight to live).  Just out of curiousity, what are your tactics when you get into a fight?

And...

Nice to know you're a fan.

Most likely not, though I find myself forgetting this is a roguelike sometimes. Make sure you use your potions!

My dwarf has focused on two-handed fighting and slaughters most monsters in one hit now. Unfortunately, he's also subject to one-hit deaths despite improved armor and about 8 times his starting HP. The game has... issues in areas. For instance, monsters tend to stick with monsters that are their levels, and thus are all about the same difficulty. But if you get a human or mutant thrown in the mix then you need to watch out, because they can carry weapons which vastly improve their damage.

Anyway, I'm level 11 and I still get killed by a lot of shit. Money is no longer an issue though. I carry around a sack of garbage for the "I want it!" and "my kid's birthday" quests. and do profitable delivery missions.

I personally advise joining one of the guilds ASAP. They shave tons of money off of IDing items, which makes it easier to get better gear.
